My OB sent me to a cardiologist

I called my OB last week about having heart palpitations and shortness of breath. I thought maybe I needed my thyroid checked since in on synthroid. I really just thought they would tell me I'm pregnant and it was normal. No. They sent me for BW and an EKG. All was normal. My BP and vitals when fine. OB still wants me to see a cardiologist. I almost didn't go but I did. I thought HE would say your pregnant, its normal. No. He has me on a heart monitor for a week.

I'm so grouchy over the whole thing. Its all so ridiculous and off the deep end. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna wear it for 2 days and tell them that's gonna have to be good enough. We are going on a little vacay for Thanksgiving and this dang thing is not gonna ruin it!

I just recently went through this myself, I had open heart surgery 6 years ago...

The heart monitor is definitely a pain... But if you are having palpitations hopefully it'll catch them on the monitor & they can get to the bottom of it!

Ugh. I had to wear a heart monitor once about 12 years ago. It was so cumbersome and you had to call any recordings in over the phone. I remember mine not working properly, so I threw it across the office where I was working at the time. Ha. Long story short, I hope they've improved them at least ;-) Good luck!

As annoying as it is, I hope you can find a way to put up with it. With the increased blood flow and extra work load on your heart during pregnancy, heart issues can come to the surface that you might not have noticed before. It's not that unusual to have heart issues arise during pregnancy but that doesn't mean it can't be dangerous.
