TTC After a Loss

~*~*~*~*May Flowers Check In ~*~*~*~*~ 11/24/14

Hello my May mommas <3 I hope your week is starting off right

Please update us on what is going on with you both TTCAL and NTTCALR. Please feel free to PM me anytime if you are having a tough week. <3 or if you get a BFP. xoxo

I'm sorry no individual check ins again this week. I meant to post this last night and do it but some stuff got in the way. Sorry

BFP At end, please skip if you are having a rough day

This is a check-in for anyone who had a loss or an EDD in May (of any year). I am so sorry for each one of your losses. I hope that this can be a place to give support and help each other through this difficult time. Members, give us an update on how you are doing. If I didn’t tag you with specific questions, it’s only because we didn’t hear from you last week (or for a few weeks) - please jump back in. Please pop in and let us know how you’re doing even if you don’t have time to respond to everyone individually this week! New members, introduce yourself so that we can get to know you.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know so that we can congratulate you on PgAL. I try to lurk on PgAL often, but sometimes it’s tough and I might miss it. Please send me a PM also if you are taking a Bump Break.

  • @Km380 Hey!
    >:D<

No news on the TTC front.

In other life related stuff, well, I don't have much there either!  I think I'm tired and my brain isn't working right!
Ok, random stuff then!  I scrubbed the algae off of the fishtank today.  There was a quite the growth going on, and man is that stuff hard to scrub off.  Tomorrow I'm starting to work on the cooking for Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow is pie making, wednesday is casserole prepping.  I'm making pumpkin, pecan, and apple pies as well as mini cheesecakes.
On Wednesday while we are running our pre Thanksgiving errands we are also going to pick up some new fish for the tank!  So excited!
    \:D/
So I'm resetting my sleep schedule, which for the first few days means a whole lot of sleepiness.  So other than being very very very tired, I am good.

We met in middle school. We got married 15 years later in a February blizzard of 2010.

  • @Km380 Since we are hosting, I'm making most of the meal minus a salad and the mashed potatoes.  This is first year in a long time not doing Ravioli, and despite all my practice attempts I have been unable to create a really good gluten free ravioli.  So turkey and the stuff that goes with it instead this year!
I am making the turkey, gravy, gluten free stuffing, twice baked cauliflower casserole, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole.  We'll also be having rolls and cranberry sauce .

  • @menrandes feel free to send a pie this way! :)

Nothing new for me really. Just getting ready for the holiday. NTNP is fine so far. I'm probably still mostly TTA this cycle because I just don't think I'm ready to be KUed again, but I'm trying to be open to whatever. The mental back and forth is really no fun if I sit and think about things, but luckily I've been too busy lately to be able to do that much. I was the MOH in my BFF's wedding last weekend, which was so, so fun, but now I'm playing cooking and cleaning catch up ahead of the holiday. So much to do this week! How are you @Km380?

I'm good thanks! Guess I should update lol. Well I'm glad you are keeping busy! I know for me not being busy can be really bad for my mental state.

  • Hi Km380
Thanks for the check-in. Yes AF came, after I called her a bitch last week. She's come and gone so that is good. Now it puts us in our first cycle of being able to TTC post MC. I'm having mixed emotions. I feel good and ready to TTC, but I'm nervous for if/when CD1 happens. That will be a tough day I'm sure.

NNTCR. Not a whole to going on. Just trying to get my home back in shape. I've been slacking a lot lately.

I hope everyone has a great holiday  and safe travels to all of those going some place away from home.
     Me: 30, DH: 30. Dating since 2007- Married: 5/18/13.

I'm glad she came and went. Trying again is going to bring up a lot of emotions. Fx for you. Just remember just bc you are clear doesn't mean you have to ttc. And if you try you can still take a break. Be sure and take care of you and YH is all I mean

  • Hey all,
I'm having a rough day.  I'm not sure why, but anytime I hear anyone is pregnant now it's really getting to me...a lot.  It sucks and I feel like a bad person but if one more person tells me they are pregnant I'm going to lose it.
We are currently just temping and trying so it's like NTNP for us since I know we need the RE to help us.   We'll see him in December then hopefully do 1 or 2 IUI's before moving on to IVF #2.  I guess I'm sad about this too.  I was hoping maybe something would happen durng our little break but...so far nothing.

@Km380 YAY for starting to cycle!

  • @‌king26 I'm sorry you're having a tough time. You're not a bad person at all. It's hard to feel happiness for others when you feel so much pain for yourself. If you ever want to talk pm me. >:D<

  • @cavewmn As someone with Celiac disease and an intolerance to soy, I'm surprised that they wouldn't have brought their own food!  That's what I always do so I can be sure I have something to eat!  I wouldn't expect someone to change their menu/how they usually cook for my benefit!
    Ah well.
I get you on the running around like a maniac.  I always do before I know people are coming on.  And even though I'm getting a lot of cleaning done now, I know on thursday I'll be running around like a crazy person trying to get even more done!

Thank you for the info. I'll check out the newbie check in. My RE is not checking me to zero but my OB has done a few ultrasounds and they made sure I passed everything.
Ok, as long as someone is monitoring you. I would ask the ob to monitor you to zero, it's a pain but important to do.

Good news is the ingrown hair I mentioned is healed. The bad news is I have another one. I asked my cousin, who is a nurse, if I am doomed for my incision to do this. She said no. Thank goodness. I do hope it stops soon.

I ovulated a week late. Which means we only got 1 try in and the farthest out.....and what I thought was a 2WW wasn't and now I am stuck back in a 2WW......I am trying not to get my hopes up but it is pretty hard. I figure if I get AF then I get to drink starbucks caramel keurig with bailey's

My husband switched offices and hopefully this will be less stress for him. I hope he starts working out again. Also he does what he needs to do if he starts to get depressed. All this usually helps his DE(Delayed Ejaculation) and FX that it doesn't take another 4 years to get KU'd.

NTTCALR: Right now I am getting ready for Thanksgiving and to have my MIL here. I am dragging my feet on the cleaning part. But I know once Wednesday gets here I will be running around the house like crazy!!

I finally know that our friend and her family isn't coming over and at least I don't have to make any special dishes now.

I finally finalized the menu and MIL wants to now make something....We told her to send us a list and we will do the shopping before she flys in.

Other wise just crafting for Christmas.
Getting books to help with ADHD so I can stay off my meds.
Also trying to decide what I want as my avatar. lol
    Oh no another one!?
I hope this change helps yh's stress and he can help himself. Fx for your 2ww. I do like your idea of baileys in coffee though!

  • TTCAL related I am officially off the bench and moving on with a new cycle!  I really like my new RE.  He's very matter of fact, doesn't sugar coat things, but gives me all the details, percentages, etc.  Also, he only repeated bloodwork but I don't have to redo my HSG and MH doesn't have to repeat his SA (which we're both relieved about!).  He felt like we should just go straight to an IUI (which is what my previous RE had initially recommended).  Since I responded well to Clomid in the past and my baseline ultrasound on 11/21 was normal, we're going to do Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI.

I started the Clomid 11/22, have my first monitoring ultrasound 12/1, then we'll see based on that.  I've ovulated 10 days after Clomid in the past, but not sure what will happen now with the trigger.  I think DH and I both feel good about jumping back into things but if this cycle moves forward, my test date will be around Christmas, and that has the potential to really F*&%^ up the holidays.  It's kind of hard to be hopeful sometimes.

    **LO mentioned, not mine**

NTTCALR:  I'm finally sucking it up and visiting my friend and her new baby tomorrow.  So, yeah, we'll see how that goes.  Seeing how last night DH played some Garth Brooks song "Mom" to me on the couch and I ugly cried, it still may be a little soon.

Otherwise I'm back to running in moderation, getting ready for Thanksgiving, staying busy at work, the usual.

    Hey all,
I'm having a rough day.  I'm not sure why, but anytime I hear anyone is pregnant now it's really getting to me...a lot.  It sucks and I feel like a bad person but if one more person tells me they are pregnant I'm going to lose it.
       *snip*

Sorry you are going through this. I have had a hard time with this too. One of my closest friends has been TTC since August and I had to tell her that I will want to be happy for her when she gets KU, but I will need her to tell me via text or something so I can process the information privately before her big announcement. Otherwise I will loose it. I picture myself just saying "F- it" and leaving the room.

I don't think she; and many others get what it is like to go through pregnancy loss.

@sweetcalittc1, I am sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to find some support here. Be kind to yourself and take care.

@cavewmn, I really you and your husband can stay healthy. I hope the new office helps with all of his stress. Is he still looking for something else? I know there are a lot of work books for adolescents with ADHD. I hope you can find something helpful.

@nikiswimr, I understand what you mean about the anticipation of a BFN and how much it will suck. I was just talking to my husband about it. For this second we have decided that we will NTNP. I think he is more afraid of what a BFN will do to me than I am.

We had friends who had their baby the day that we found out we had most likely miscarried. I had to wait until after my D&C and then some before I could bring myself to go visit. Then I made sure to set a time limit on the visit. -Then I had myself a giant glass of wine, a good cry and snuggles with MH after. So moral of the story. I hope you can honor your limits and be kind to yourself. I agree with Km380, if you need more time take it.

  • Hi @Km380‌ >:D< FX that all goes well this cycle! So exciting!!!

I had an appt with my gynecologist yesterday. I told her that we are TTC with no luck and about my job (high stress). She said the next steps would be for me to have hormone testing (2 blood samples at different time points in cycle) and for DH to have semen analysis. It wouldn't be covered by insurance, but it's not expensive so that's ok. She asked if TTC was stressful and how we are feeling.

And she mentioned it doesn't look like I am pregnant this cycle, but I have a 2cm cyst - nothing to worry about. It concerns me a bit, as it wasn't there before. She said it's fairly common though.

I don't know what to do. I don't want to wait if there is something wrong, but maybe I am just being impatient!?! I left for a business trip afterwards so will discuss it with DH when I get home tonight or tomorrow night (a nice topic for date night). I'm just really frustrated and feel like I'm never going to get pregnant again.

Sorry to bump and run . . . and be Debbie Downer. I'm mobile, so I'll catch up with you ladies later.

  • Hi @Km380, thanks for the check-in and sorry I'm a day late.  Good luck on your upcoming IVF!!!!

    @King26, I'm so sorry you're having a rough day.

@sweetcalittc1, welcome to the board and I'm so very sorry for your loss.

@Nikiswimr, congrats on burning the bench!!!!!!  <:-P

@alm288, I'm sorry about the cyst!  I hope its nothing.

AFM, I very unexpectedly O'd last week!!!  This is my first cycle temping, so it was pretty exciting seeing crosshairs, lol.  Also....we actually had decent timing!  And of course now I'm driving myself crazing wanting to test.  (Early FFWC? I tested last night...at 5 dpo...and again this morning...).  Seriously, I don't know how you girls can stand knowing exactly when you O every month.  I've decided to put down the pee sticks because its just a waste and I'm going to go crazy.  We'll see how long I last.  Even if I'm not KU, just having the opportunity has made me feel hopeful and excited again, like a dark cloud has lifted.  I'm sure I'll have a whole new set of emotions when CD1 comes.

NTTCALR - just prepping for Thanksgiving.  I'm off tomorrow so I'll be picking up last minute groceries, cooking and cleaning.

I'll probably be out of touch until next Monday, so in case I don't pop in again Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and I hope you have a safe and happy holiday.  And lots of alcohol to those struggling through this week ((Hugs))).  >:D<

Sorry this cycle was a bust. I hope the cyst goes away on it's own. IMO if you can afford the testing, do it. More information is always a good thing. Maybe don't talk about it on date night? We try not to talk about anything ttc when we have date nights. And if it sneaks in, we make it a point to stop the conversation.
I know you're frustrated, this all sucks (((hugs)))

  • @Km380, thanks for the check in. I hope you are doing well.

Not much new to report this week. Just realized today marks two months since I found out about my MMC. I guess it's good that time is passing-- it puts me that much closer to trying again. I'm just waiting for my second AF-post D&C to get here and then my DH and I are going to give it another whirl.

@King26, I'm sorry you're having a rough day. I know how you feel (I'm sure we all do). I feel like I keep hearing about a new pregnancy at least once a week. My best friend is planning to make her official "I'm pregnant!" Facebook announcement Friday (she gave me some fair warning because she knows how hard things have been for me, which I'm grateful for). I can already tell that's going to be a rough day for me because we have so many friends in common and they'll all be congratulating her.

Happy early Thanksgiving to all of the lovely ladies on here. I'm thankful for your support and virtual hugs.

  • @nikiswimr, thanks for asking. My DH and I are doing Thanksgiving at my parents' house. We're also going to try to stop by my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's house as my in-laws and some of DH's other family will be over there. Can we pull it off? We'll see. My other brother-in-law and sister-in-law from NYC (DH is one of 4 siblings-- three boys and one girl) and their dog are staying with us starting on Thanksgiving, so we'll spend most of the weekend hanging out with them.

    What about you?

Also, I'm going to attempt to make this, https://www.crazyforcrust.com/2013/11/toffee-chocolate-pecan-pie/, tomorrow night for Thanksgiving. Wish me luck!

"Everybody here has got a story to tell. Everybody's been through their own hell. There's nothing too special about getting hurt, but getting over it that takes the work. Because one way or another, we all need each other. Nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover because everything comes out the way it should in the end." -Glen Phillips, "Duck and Cover"

  • @MellyMel15‌ I hope the time passes quickly until the next AF. Stepping away from FB can be a good idea, especially with the holidays. I rarely check anymore and it really helps. I actually told mh the other night that he should step back during the holidays and knowing that he won't - whatever he sees I don't want to know.
