I like egg nog once a year (non alcoholic).  I will buy a quart of it and love that ice cold glass of it so HARD and the rest goes to waste because I'm over it as fast as I wanted it.

just for posterity, i'll share too.  i'm on team love, lol.  i even like "eggnog'n" tea that bigelow sells this time of year, but i haven't been able to find it this year so i've been approximating it with holiday tea from target with egg nog in it instead of half and half.  i only had it freshly-made once, and my mom made it...i didn't like that, but she just put one real egg in it and it didn't blend well, so the texture was lumpy and gross.  i'd try it with pasteurized egg substitute in it though.  i usually cut the store-bought stuff with milk too, because i find it to be a little too thick.

I voted for disgusting...but I'm not sure if I've ever actually tried it. For some reason the names alone grosses me out so I've never been interested in it.

I like eggnog, both alcoholic and not, but I don't crave it all year.  A glass or two once in awhile, and I enjoy that it's seasonal.

Though with how much I've been craving all things creamy with this pregnancy, I won't be surprised if we keep a carton in the fridge once I "break the seal" and start drinking it... probably when we're setting up Christmas decorations next weekend.  Though we might go for gluhwein (DH swears he can cook off the alcohol content for me so I get all the taste without any pregnancy-unfriendly aspects).

It's German/Austrian.  DH had it for the first time when he spent Christmas in Germany while studying abroad in college, and he used to make it for me.  When we went to Austria and Germany in fall 2010, we had it then and I became hooked.

It's mulled spiced wine, and it's usually served warm.  Delicious!!!

Now, Gluehwein is delicious. We would pour it in a crockpot so it stays warm and just sip on it all day. Yumm!

I just stopped by the liquor store with DS to buy beer for DH (kind of ironic since DS and I are the two people in the family who can't drink), and I was asking the manager how long they'd have eggnog. I want to make sure they still have it when I can drink again. He told me that the alcoholic eggnog is good for 1 year - good to know!

I can't stand it, but my whole family loves it!  The kids (including DH lol) have been asking me at the market for a few weeks already.  I said they had to wait until after Thanksgiving until I buy it.

The stuff from the grocery store is gross. 

I have had "real" egg nog only once - my French Canadian aunt-in-law made it from scratch.  It was the most delicious thing I ever drank.  I only then understood the hype.
