I have had an anterior placenta with my first and have it again now with my third. Yes, it was harder to feel movement in the beginning. But honestly, the cushioning in the last few weeks was worth it - I felt much less beat up with him than with my second. ;-) silver linings.
I'm a third time mom and this is the first time I've had an anterior placenta. I still haven't felt movement yet, where I had felt it by now with my previous pregnancies.

I have had it with my previous 2 pregnancies, also with this one. I have felt movement around the 21-22 wk with child#1, with 2nd at 20-21 wk. I'm 15 wks now, so don't know when I'll feel baby, but we will see.
I'm not a STM but I also have an anterior placenta. I'm just past 16 weeks and have recently started feeling small movements. However whenever I feel movement it's far to the sides where I assume my placenta is not. My doctor said around 20-22 weeks is when it's most common to start feeling the baby with an anterior placenta though.
I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy, and as previous posters confirmed, it is more difficult to feel movement and you probably won't feel it as early. You will definitely feel it eventually, but I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of disappointed to have the anterior placenta my first pregnancy. This pregnancy, I'm having twins, and found out that BOTH placentas are anterior. I'm pretty bummed out! Although with twins I'm sure I'll feel plenty of movement anyway.
I had an anterior placenta with DS. I started to feel movement with him around 18 weeks. There was a time I freaked out when I was 20 something weeks cause I stopped feeling him move much. Turns out he was moving like crazy but it was blocked by the placenta.
This thread bums me out...I have an anterior placenta per my NT scan. I've had a few "popping" or fluttery feelings but after reading this thread, I feel like it was all in my mind. I was so looking forward to feeling something in the next few weeks.
This exactly lol ... I was looking forward to a frequent feeling but now I know I'm just crazy lol :-??
