Frustrated. . . Daycare question

Hey ladies!y DH and I decided we want to CD our LO. I'm excited about it and feel it's best for our son. I toured 2 daycares today and really liked one of them but cloth diapers are not an option. I know some of you do part time CD, but I'm wondering how some of you found a place that is willing to do it. Did it take a lot of searching or is there a website that lists CD friendly facilities? I know I'm not going to find the perfect daycare, but CDing is something I really want to do full time, if possible.

Did you just ask if you could CD or did you have examples with you?  A lot of people will think of safety pins and plastic, not modern cloth diapers.  I would take a CD to actually show them, explain about a wet bag, etc. and then ask if they would be willing to at least try.

If they refuse and that's the daycare you really want, part-time CDing can still save you money.

I asked.  The two I toured for E both said they were willing.  One of them hadn't done it before and the other had a child in cloth already.

The new facility we use now had never done it before.  Now they have two kids in cloth.  They were hesitant, but then I showed them the pockets and they agreed.

As long as it doesn't involve extra work for them, they didn't care.

I'd look up the rules for your state and come in with some examples of the diapers.  I've found most places think of the old plastic pants and prefolds.

Same.  The first time, we asked around and only 2 places said yes, we chose one of those places.  The second time, almost everyone said yes.  If not immediately, after seeing them, they agreed that they were fine.  If you have a local CD store, you could ask them if they know which DCs allow them.

I asked and they said ok. Ours is a small center in someone's home and she was very open to it. They have a fair number of leaks due to user error, but whatever. Also ours seems to prefer individually bagging dirties in plastic shopping bags vs a wet bag. To which I also say whatever.

I think everyone pretty much covered it.  I live in a state where CDs aren't specifically mentioned (allowed or disallowed) in the state laws.  I toured oh maybe 5 daycares in 2012, and two of them tried to tell me it was illegal.  I ended up not being interested in either one for other reasons, but if I had wanted to use one of them, I would have brought in a copy of my state law.  

That being said, I think you are more likely to get a place willing to try if it's in-home or a smaller center.  The national centers, at least around here, tend to be a bit more picky. 

I also think you can still save money, and limit your baby's exposure to chemicals, by CD'ing PT.  So I wouldn't rule that out.  I think there are some moms on here that send their kid in a CD and/or have DC put one on before pick-up even though sposies are used during the day.

Thanks, everyone! They said it was policy at their facilities. The one place said a few families will switch when they drop the children off to disposal ones and then change them into cloth when they pick them up. I guess I'm not the only one who CDs there. @missmimsyy‌, I'm in GA.
