Pregnant after a Loss

PGAL Brain :(

Hi ladies, my PGAL brain is getting the best of me. I am worried that LO is not growing. I am almost 18 weeks pregnant and still not showing. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I thought I would show sooner than the first time which has not happened and I don't have my A/S scan till the Dec 4th. Its been over a month since I last seen LO via u/s. I have been feeling little movements from LO here and there but can't seem to shake the worry that he is not growing.

Any tips and how to stop worrying? Thanks so much ladies in advance.

Re: PGAL Brain :(

  • I've got PGAL brain bad right now too. We have our U/S 12/2. I've been keeping myself busy as much as I can to keep the nasty PGAL away. You're so close to your appt! You can do it!

  • I'm sure you and little one are fine. I am a little over seventeen weeks, and am barely showing too. I feel little one occasionally. I think this is all normal. I am 5'7" and was 130 lbs before pregnancy.  I think I'm about 138 now. It may just take longer for some people to show. I see my OB today. I'll let you know what she says about my size.

I'll be 18 weeks this week with #2 and you can't really see a bump unless it's nighttime; and even then it's not very noticeable.
This is pregnancy #4 for me, and my experience is that you never stop worrying. :( With each new milestone you reach, there is something new to worry about.
I had many more ultrasounds with my last pregnancy, to monitor a uterine synechiae, so it's hard this time around, not seeing LO as often. And this time of pregnancy is hard because feeling movement isn't very consistent yet.
Not trying to hijack your post; just sharing so you know you're not alone.
The things that help calm my PgAL fears most are: 1.) talking to friends (mostly AL friends) for some support 2.) my Doppler and 3.) repeating the mantra I have chosen for this pregnancy. ("You are fearfully and wonderfully made.")
    Hang in there, mama!

  • No advice but I wasn't really showing very much around 18 weeks either. I'm sure LO is growing just fine :)

  • That limbo time between first trimester woes and feeling baby regularly and showing is hard. Hang in there.. it's not easy. Hug!

  • ((hugs)) If you can feel the baby move, that's fantastic!  December 4th will be here before you know it.  For now, remember the PGAL mantras.

  • PP are right - try not to worry so much about the bump.  Every body is different.

At almost 36w let me tell you, I long for those pre-bump days.  Sleep on your belly and back while you still can!!
