Hello fellow UTE crew members! I wanted to hear how your OBs handled questions about exercise during pregnancy, after multiple losses and uterine surgery. I have seen 3 OBs in my practice and can't seem to really get a straight answer. Pre-pregnancy, my workouts consisted of running, spin class, Tabata (high impact), Barre class and elliptical. The OBs have been iffy about me running and the only answer I got about spin was "I don't know much about spin, so I can't really answer." I know exercise restriction is only a question that my own OB can answer, but I am just curious as to what others have experienced.
All I want to do is feel fit again!

Re: UTE crew members- exercise questions
DX: Septate Uterus. Septum resection 6/4/13
My OB is bedresting me so my situation is extreme and clearly no exercise whatsoever but given your septum I would only be comfortable exercising if I knew my cervix was being looked at consistently.
If you feel you absolutely need to exercise can you maybe find low impact activites?

OB and MFM didn't restrict me based on the ute issues per se. I had a bleeding issue around 10 weeks and at that point I was put on pelvic rest and no strenuous exercise, lifting, pushing or pulling. If I recall correctly the lift/push/pull was limited to 15 pounds.
When they started monitoring my cervical length (14ish weeks), I had the same thing for a while - borderline short cervix put me on pelvic rest and no exercise beyond walking and light weights. When the cervix went back to a normal length, they stopped reiterating the restrictions but never actually "released" me to do more - which was fine because frankly I wasn't up to it with my anemia, etc.
ETA: Cervical length checks weren't related to the septum surgery either. That was because I had surgery to fashion the two cervixes into one.
I will add that I did a self-placed pelvic restriction. If we were going to have sex, I made sure I was off work the next day, that way I could be on "light duty."
