Dr. Browns Slow Flow Level 1

We were using a thicker formula with LO so I used Level 2 nipples. When we decided to change formula to Enfamil Gentalese we went back to level 1 and we notice the formula just sprays out when we tip bottom upside down. That explained why DD was spitting up a ton. Can anyone figure out why this may be happening?

We just switched to Dr. Browns and the formula I use is also thin. I did notice that when I hold the bottle upside the nipple drips a bit, not a ton, but more than I thought it would. My son takes these bottles slower and has minimal spit up. I think Dr. Browns makes a newborn nipple. Maybe trying that size will help.

I have no idea why the level 1 nipples are like that, but as weird as it might sound, I suggest picking up the Dr. Brown's preemie nipples if you can. DS seems to do a bit better with them--they're slow enough that he doesn't dribble or spit up quite as much.

I did try those but was just wondering why the Level 1's seem so fast. So strange

We had that problem when we didn't use the blue insert, or if the nipple wasn't on right. DH doesn't like the blue insert cause its one more thing to worry about but honeslty I think it makes a difference.
