Xmas baking

I haven't even thought about Xmas baking yet. I usually have a bunch done by now. I don't have my list made yet of what I'm going to make. I'm looking for some ideas. What are some favourites that you make?

Re: Xmas baking

  • Mostly different types of cookies

Chocolate, Peanut butter and Pretzel cookies
    Raspberry Thumbprints
    Shortbread cookies
Rolo cookies ( a rolo stuffed inside a sugar cookie )
My husband also makes frosted sugar cookies.

  • I used to put on Christmas music and make elaborately decorated cutouts every year on my own, pre-kids. We're going to have so much going on at Christmas and I'll be SOOO pregnant that I am thinking not cutouts, probably, this year. I want to make a few things, but I'm going for easy and easy for kids to help with. We might do cherry chocolate drop cookies (pink with chips), easy sugar cookies that you roll in balls with colored sugar and flatten with a glass, and maybe those log cookies with oatmeal in them that you roll in sprinkles and then slice and bake. I'm also maybe making a basic cinnamon coffee cake for Christmas morning. We'll see if I get any further than that.

  • I'm a little behind this year and haven't made my list yet. But off the top of my head:

    Peanut butter blossoms
    Gingersnaps
    Oreo balls
    Sugar cookies

  • Can anyone help me, I've lost my recipe for the fondant that goes into my truffles. I know it;s a bag of icing sugar, a pound of butter, and I think that's it, but for some reason, I want to think that there is a can of evaporated milk in there maybe?
  • Gingerbread and Sugar Cut-Outs that the kiddos will decorate.  I am not a huge Christmas treat baker, but those are my go to recipes every year.
  • Our food allergies dictate what I can make but so far I have made chocolate peanut butter fudge, peppermint bark, and plan on making gluten free butter tarts with a nut crust, eggnog cheesecakes, and trader joe type cowboy bark with gluten free ingredients.
