This makes me want to cry to even ask! But I've put it off long enough (possibly too long) and need to get DS on a wait list somewhere for August.
Anyhow, does anyone know of any places (centers or in-home) in Kirkland? I have an email in to Kindercare and am not intersested (aka, can't afford) Bright Horizons. There's a La Petit I may check out as well. How do I even go about finding out info about in-home daycares?
I need advice if you have any. I have soooo not been looking forward to this (and know I should have settled this long ago but I've been hoping we'd magically strike it rich and I wouldnt' have to go back to work next school year. LOL).
Thanks!
Re: Kirkland area daycare recs?
It's hard to leave them, I understand!! It'll be ok though, the first week is the hardest and then it gets easier. It's so nice to know that they're in good hands while you're at work, that made it so much better for me. It's great you're looking now... you won't have to settle on any place you aren't 100% crazy about.
Here's a website that lists licensed in-home daycares and centers in your area:

Hi Michelle!
Have you looked at the Kirkland Children's School? They don't take kids until they are 1 and I'm not sure your son will be old enough in August but I thought I would throw it out there. Trey is going to Bright Horizons now part-time and I hear you about the $$. We do love it though. We debated between BH and Kirkland Children's School and only decided on BH because he was able to get in there sooner.
Kirkland Children's School is located in Bridle Trails and is a really cute, quaint place. They don't advertise and most of their students come from recommendations. It's run by 2 or 3 sisters and was started by their mother. It might be an idea. We did talk to a couple in-home providers but they were in Medina (near my office) and both were in the process of retiring. Sorry I don't have more ideas.
I hope everything is going well and your son's reflux is doing better. I get on here every once in awhile but expect to be here more - I'm expecting twins in June and FREAKING out about it! Two babies at once? I'm still in shock.
Anyway, good luck!
Sarah
Hey Michelle,
I gave you the wrong school. I meant Bridle Trails School, not Kirkland Children's School, was the one we liked. I did remember though that we did look at the Kirkland Children's School in Houghton as well. We liked them too but their waitlist was really long, something like a year and a half. We were looking for part-time and it was supposed to be shorter but it's been over a year and I still haven't heard from them. They also start kids at 1 year old.
Anyway, I wanted to get you the corrected info.
