January 2015 Moms

Maybe TMI but help is greatly appreciated.

I will try to make this as quick as possible!first I wanted to go ahead and thank everyone who has helped me the few times I've posted before and hopefully you all can help me again! Anyyyways...
Around 3:30 last night I woke up for no apparent reason at all. Finally around 6:30 our dog woke my boyfriend up so she could go out. When he came back to bed we had intercourse after I cleaned myself up with a towel I fell back asleep. This morning when getting up to go to work I walked across the room to get my clothes for the day and I felt a liquid running down my legs. And I'm not sure if my water has broken or it is just left over gunk I missed while cleaning last night. I am only 32 weeks and 3 days so it's way early for my water to break but I understand things happen so I'm trying to be safe rather than sorry! Any help on what could be going on is really appreciated! Thank you!

  • If it continues leaking its probably your water, if its stopped its probably not. But it's a good idea to get it checked out just in case.

  • @grumpycat88‌ i would describe it as watery it came out super fast I'm so glad I was at home!
  • Please just call your Dr.

It really can't hurt at this point.  My water 'trickled' a bit w/ DS2 and still wasn't fully broken.  You should just get checked out.

  • In all seriousness OP- if it's got a smell, it's likely it's not your water and it's seman.

If there is no smell, it could be your water.

If it continues to come out, I'd Def. Call your Dr. Maybe go take a shower, clean your bits, and give it a little bit to see if you continue to have leaking.

  • That's what I thought would be safest I just didn't want to call them for something stupid and distract them from someone who is really in need of help.
  • Thank you everyone!
  • I would clean up, lie down for a while and then see if it happens again when you stand up.

  • Having intercourse in the morning after waking up?! I can't recall the last time I did that. Not in the mood at all for sex and it's def not comfortable anymore. Kudos though!

Hope it wasn't your water! I was under the impression that if you ever think your water could have broke, it's better to just call the doc and let them make the call on what you should be doing. Even if it's a false alarm, they are the professionals, not us.
  • I called my dr and she said to keep an eye on it for an hour or so and if it was still there to come on in. But everything is okay just paranoid FTM and always feeling super awkward posting here. Sorry to bug everyone with a pointless post.
  • Speaking from very recent experience with water breaking...it just keeps coming out. There was an initial gush but then kept coming and coming, like a leaky faucet, all day. Even just on our 10 min drive to hospital I soaked through my pants, and a thick towel....all over the car seat. DH says his seat is pretty much now covered in frozen amniotic fluid (it's cold here) :) a car detailing will be in order after baby. hopefully not the case with you!!

It was a good question.  It can be hard to tell what kind of fluid you're dealing with particularly in the third tri. I'll bet that this same question will get asked again on here at LEAST once more. No harm in asking here or calling your doctor for guidance. Glad that things are okay.
