I am kind of not looking forward to my work day today because I have a lot of stuff to do, so I'm probably going to go in a little early.
But in good news - I am hoping to leave work by 3:30, DS has already been dropped off at my parents' and will stay there until tomorrow morning, and DH and I are going to our annual "Friendsgiving" celebration tonight. DH is making twice-baked potato casserole, and I am taking sparkling grape and cranberry juice for myself and anyone else who may be pregnant. Yay!
@Maebb - that sounds like a blast! I hope you enjoy the time with your friends.
I'm doing good. I'M GOING HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!! Like... in 3 hours. I'm hoping the state of my home is looking decent since I haven't been there in 11 weeks. I hope I actually remember where my home is (kidding, kidding). Eeeekkkk!
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
@MusicFanatic, going home for the first time in 11 weeks - wow! I bet you're so excited! It will be great to sleep in your own bed! How are you feeling and recovering? How is Zoe doing? I don't want to be too nosy about everything, but I hope y'all are great!
I haven't been in the pottery studio since May and I'm finally going to work on some stuff today. I'm so excited! Since I stopped working early I've been busy doing renos and painting and basically felt like I should be doing productive things. Time for some 'me time'
Today is the last day of school for the kids before thanksgiving break. I have a ton of assessments to give in the morning then we are just going to have a relaxing afternoon. I hope they cooperate and aren't insane.
I'm up way too early and have been coughing up a lung all night. My sinus infection congestion got into my lungs and activated my asthma so they put me on prednisone yesterday, so that could also be why I can't sleep. I take two more this morning so at least that should carry me through the day! DH and I have our babymoon this weekend so I have everything crossed that I actually feel good and can enjoy it. This has unfortunately been the season of perpetual sickness in my house!
@maebb Friendsgiving sounds like a blast. When my best friend lived here in TX we'd all get together each year too and it was always so fun and drama free. Plus all the food!!
@MusicFanatic congratulations on going home!!! I miss by bed if I've been gone a nigh or two, I cannot fathom 11 weeks. Hope Zoe continues to thrive and can join you at home very soon!

I'm recovering good (though I'm not a big fan of peeing now lol) and Zoe is doing wonderfully. She was allowed to room in w/ us last night. We had two good feedings and a crappy one. Typically we have more bad than good, so it's been an improvement! We still have to do 1 million tricks and things to try and keep her awake and not fall asleep while eating, so it's slow going - but she'll get better with that in time. She stil has to stay a bit to work on it But the nurses think she'll be home within a week or so. Not certain, but their guess. It's the only issue we're currently working on, so she just needs to grasp it better and they need to see her gain weight after feedings. I don't care if you're nosy, I kinda like to talk about her
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
Thanks ladies! Since I wasn't sleeping I just went ahead and took more prednisone so maybe it will be out of my system and I can sleep tonight. But it says "take with food" so I'm now out on the couch eating a pop tart and trying not to wake the whole house up with my hacking!
@MrsDigger10 have fun on your date night! We're seeing Mockingjay at a dine in theater as part of babymoon tomorrow night and I can't wait!!!
@MusicFanatic Congrats on your daughter and Happy Release Day! @mmooki What do you teach?
I have a handful of assessments and tests to give between now and Tuesday, which is our last day before break. I also have to teach 2x2-digit multiplication (with the regrouping & special "magic 0") this afternoon from 12:50-2:00. NOT looking forward to that. We've learned it a few of the fancy, new Common Core ways, but putting it all together blows their 4th grade minds. We also have a busy weekend coming up, with some fun events. My first Morning with Mom event at DS1's preschool is tomororow. Gingerbread houses!
24 babies on D14! Even though I am due the 28th of December, I am guessing there will be 22 babies born before mine. Just an estimate… I really don't want to go to work today and hear how she is coming early. None of them are medical professionals; they're going on the premise that this is #4. Well, my kids don't like to come out. Yes, I'm huge, thanks. Let's see how you look on your fourth pregnancy at 34 weeks...
DS (almost 2) just said "Oh my God" to my mom. She wanted to know where he heard that, I said a Taylor Swift song, she said, "Who is Taylor Swift??? What song?" "Shake it off." "Shake what off?" I sent her the YouTube, and she said, "I'm not sure this is appropriate."
@MusicFanatic that's great news!!!!! Hopefully she's home soon and feeding well!
It's Friday! I'm going in to work to organize some things, but I only b have a half day. It's so nice to be "out" but of course my mother has already started posting on FB about it. I think I might miss some of that privacy I had...

I teach 4th too! Common core is something...interesting! We still have Monday and Tuesday of next week. We'll be testing division on Tuesday.
@MusicFanatic congratulations on going home. After 11 weeks being away, I'm sure there's no better place to be. And once Zoe joins you there, life will be perfect!
My random... My 34 week appt was cancelled at the last minute yesterday so I have to go next week. That means I've made it to my weekly appts!

@MusicFanatic so excited for you!!! And so glad Zoe is doing well!! She will get the feeding thing down soon Jealous (but not) that your LO is there with you! Of course I want this one to cook as long as needed, but you know what I mean. Lol
Random...I guess kinda bitchy... Have been awake all night again with this headache. standing and walking makes it go away, but then that starts the BH, so there's no winning. I have just come to the conclusion that this is just to get me back into the swing of having a newborn to keep me up lol. I'm prepared!!! Go away now...
@MusicFanatic So exciting that you finally get to go home! Hope your beautiful Zoe can join you there asap.
My randoms: The Christmas parade here is tonight, and the boys are SO EXCITED to go! I want to take them and have a fun family night, but I'm scared that I'll freeze because I don't have much that fits anymore. Including my winter coat.
All of these sweet LOs who have arrived early are making me even more anxious to have my DD. Obviously, I want her to stay inside for a bit longer, but I wouldn't be opposed if she was ready to come a few weeks early--healthy, of course! Plus, I'm due in exactly one month and a week, ahhh!
I have about a million loads of laundry that need to be folded today. Ugh.
@MusicFanatic Congrats on going home today! Also, Zoe sounds so awesome I am so happy for you!
We have E's Thanksgiving lunch at her school today so I am excited about that, plus we are finally finishing everything up for the baby this weekend. I have been having some issues with contractions so at my appointment yesterday my doctor did a FFn test and checked me (I am 1 cm dilated). She is hoping the contractions are more related to this being my second baby but we will know more either today or Monday. Either way it has focused us on getting everything for this baby completed!
I really should go in for a fFN, but I don't think I could handle C during the exam. I would hate to call out H during his first week at his new job though. I'm just going to stick it out until Tuesday (25th) and have H watch her then.
It was really quick... if that helps at all. My whole appointment was maybe 15 minutes with everything she did!
@musicfanatic Congrats that you finally get to go home! I bet that is a huge relief. I hope Zoe gets to go home very soon too!
I have an appointment with an orthopedic specialist this afternoon to address the pain in my upper back. I can't even describe the level of pain this is causing me, and I am pretty sure it is just because something is off kilter due to the loosening of ligaments and whatnot. I would wager a fair guess that he is going to put in my physical therapy, but due to the shortened week next week, I will probably still have to wait until after Thanksgiving to start PT. And, that means another week of excruciating pain. You know it's bad when you are practicing labor breathing exercises to deal with the pain.
I'm slightly annoyed. We've decided to not share the babies name with anyone, not even family. Reason being is that someone always has to have their say in the name. If it's something they don't like they suggested other names ect. Another reason is its something different in our families. It's unheard of to not announce a name before baby gets here. So. ...I think it's a little fun.
Anyway, my oldest son is from a previous relationship. His dad has since gotten married and they have 2 kids together. Ds1 goes frequently to his dad's house for visits. I posted a belly picture on Monday, and people commented ect. My son's step mom said she should have asked my son the babies name over the weekend when he was there. Thankfully my son doesn't even know the babies name, so he couldn't spill the beans.
Last night while I was making dinner I started to think how rude that was of her, if she in fact would have tried to use my son to get the babies name. So I asked my son of they tried to get the name. YES! They both tried to have him tell the name. Seriously, this upsets me more then it should but it really bothers me! Some people just have no respect and no boundaries!
If I wanted you to know, I'd tell you! It's no secret I'm keeping it from my family, my friends, even my own kids!
Not to mention, with her first she did the same thing. Didn't announce her babies name until he was born, so you'd think she knows exactly how I feel!
I've been MIA for a few days because of work stuff and health stuff. Nothing too serious just a bad cold (again) and some pain/discomfort issues. But I brought my sudafed with me to work today and I'm hoping to make it through the day! It's Friday!
We have a weekend-long birthing class all weekend. I'm pretty excited about it. DH's birthday is tomorrow so I'm going to try and make tomorrow special for him - get him a nice bottle of wine, some cake, a gift, etc. We think we are staying in tomorrow night (we figure we'll be tired from the class all day), so we're planning a fun movie night in. I told him we can order ALL the delivery and have a delivery feast! And then lots of cake.
@MusicFanatic - congrats on going home!! You must be thrilled. Hopefully Zoe will be right behind you and go home super soon!
I had my ultrasound this morning (last scheduled cervix check!) and everything looked great. I felt bad because she didn't get any good shots of the baby. I think DH Was disappointed The rest of my day is crazy but right now I'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for my 11 am closing.
Got my new glider and ottoman this morning! It's super comfy. Still trying to find a changing table, I feel like this nursery is never going to be complete. DH and DD will finally be home tomorrow and I am so excited. 10 days is just too long. I have my regularly scheduled Dr appt today and I'm hoping they don't try to measure my cervical length again. They can't change it and they won't try to stop labor a 3rd time so hopefully they will just let me be.
Going shopping for some big baby stuff this weekend! Bassinet/co-sleeper, stroller, car seat, and Ergo/Moby wrap. I am excited
DH surprised me with some bakery treats last night - two big slices of cake, one red velvet and one "brooklyn blackout" which is basically all the chocolate. I nibbled at it last night and had half the chocolate slice for breakfast and am so wired on sugar right now. Trying to balance it out with an egg/tomato breakfast wrap.
I feel like slacking today, but I have major work to do. At least it's Friday - what a week.
H is home thru the Thanksgiving weekend and I'm super excited! Mocking jay date night... I think so!
We got word yesterday our LO has a spot at daycare come April, yay!!
I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend! I better get outta bed and get my workout in!
We're doing the same thing! DH is finally off work on a Friday evening (never happens), and he bought us tickets to Mockingjay! So excited. Some mall time shopping for a present for a friend's baby shower, some date night time, and a movie!
@snowbaby1214 Ugh. I hate those. Almost every day there's a comment....and there are only 4 staff people at work! Surely we can all just get over me bring pregnant and be encouraging or something. However, it IS always fun to talk about Little Man...if someone at work brings up my physique, I just turn the conversation to be about him!
@britt1406 Icky. Hope you get everything out of your system today and get to sleep soon.
It's Friday! I have a huge project/paper to work on this weekend, I'm exhausted from not sleeping, my hips are doing some weird thing where they seem to be spreading out, but I'm so happy about date night and getting to hang out with DH this weekend. The church ladies are also throwing us a shower on Sunday, and I'm so excited to hang out with everyone. Presents don't really matter, I just like the excuse to talk about the baby and be happy about being a FTM with all the lovely ladies.
Plus, Trader Joe's has all their holiday food out, and the Peppermint Pretzel things are divine. Found some cookies to go with a tiny glass of wine, too....
So, as I mentioned here before, we finally sold our house. Yay! And we found a house we love. Yay...? No, the inspection failed miserably (foundation issues beyond what can be fixed in time for closing), so we had to walk.
Now, I can't find any houses I love (this is supposed to be our forever home- not just a "for now" home), and as of Dec. 31, we may very well be homeless. Well, no, we'd find somewhere to go, but the idea of moving into a rental and then moving into our own home all within a few months period while being 8 months pregnant and then again with an infant makes me want to do violent things.

I'm kind of freaking out.
I would be freaking out too. I have a love/hate relationship with house hunting. It's so fun and terrifying at the same time. Good luck!
@babystandish and @ladyamanuet - what belly button? If you guys still have them, kudos. I have a strange circular spot on my stomach that is extra smooth and wrinkly (at the same time!) with a super fun stretch mark scar.
@saiven mine makes me think of an ever watching eye....complete with a surgical scar.

I'm sitting in bed with the dog and DD watching cartoons. DH took vacation all next week and I'm so excited to have him home for awhile.
I was about to be super excited that you get to be home for Thanksgiving and then I remembered you're in Canada now...
Happy Going home any anyway!
I'm off all next week and get to meet my nephew and see my niece!!!! Oh, and my sister is coming too
