AI2 Question

Hi so I am expecting my first baby in April and I am very interested in using cloth diapers. I really want to try the AI2 type, I ordered some from Alva and they should be here soon. My question is about the inserts, can snap inserts from different companies be interchangeable or can you only use the snap insert from the company you got the diapers from?

Honestly I didn't know Alva had ai2s. I love ai2s though.

Also a trifolded prefold or pad folded flat in a cover is essentially an ai2 as well. Imagine, Best Bottoms, Buttons, and SoftBums are all compatible from what I have heard. (Snap size and placement wise)

So, from what I have heard and seen, Alva's are not actually Ai2, they are pocket diapers. At least the ones I have are, maybe there are actual Ai2s, but they all pretty much say Ai2. There is a bit of a translation issue there.... I have no experience with other Ai2 brands.

You can use just about any insert that fit for any of the diapers. If you have inserts that snap in, they may or may not snap with the cover. Like the other poster said, the snap on the insert can eventually wear away at the pul, but I would imagine that should take a while. I would just do inserts without snaps or use the same brand as the cover.

Thanks everyone!. Lots of good information, I get my Alva "AI2s" tomorrow so we'll see what they are, I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out not to be a true AI2. I want to do AI2 during the day and Pockets at night so if they are more of a pocket that will be just fine.
