new here*** is any one else feeling this way?

I had my 30week apt yesterday, and the doctor told me to go to the hospital when I feel something different. I had told him that I keep getting intense cramping, and unbelievable pressure down there..... but the problem is all of this seems different to me cause I didn't have these feelings with my daughter........ is anyone else getting these feelings.

  • Ive been getting cramping feeling myself with this one. But my cervix is also irritated apparently from the constant walking I do at work.

But honestly this is something you need to address to your doctor so they can check you over to make sure your not contracting, etc.

  • when the doctor said "something different" I did ask him what he ment and kinda looked confused, but all he said was that I'll know.... wth. but with my daughter she tried to come 6 weeks early, and people saythe 2nd one comes quicker. it's making me extremely nervous.
  • I can say that with each successive pregnancy, I've had increasing pressure on my pubic bone and surrounding area. I don't think that is abnormal, but if you're concerned, definitely call your doctor.

  • most of the time, when I'm having concerns, it's at night. so when I do call the office is close, and the nurse always says that if it's a real concern I should go into the hospital..... but a "lovely" hospital stay isn't always possible for me with my two year old. especially if they put me on bed rest.... though I know it's for my health and the babys health, but as many mothers know, life doesn't stop cause your having problems.
  • Thank you all for the input, and I definitely need to setup some emergency plans with the sitter, for those times where I freak out and need to go with my gut feeling.
  • I think when people say that the "second one comes quicker," they're talking about the length of labor, not going into labor prematurely.

My dr and midwives have mentioned multiple times that it's common to have more cramping, pressure, and Braxton Hicks, etc. when it isn't your first pregnancy, but they still said to call if I had more than 5 contractions in an hour. I'd call if you're concerned.
