Against my better judgement name poll

edited November 2014 in January 2015 Moms
This kid will go by its middle name, flammable, I know, but that is what it is. My husband had no say in my daughters name, so I figured I could let him pass on his first name. So anyway, here goes.

Against my better judgement name poll 212 votes

Robert Christian
26% 56 votes
Robert Chance
8% 18 votes
Robert Cooper
25% 54 votes
Robert Carter
34% 73 votes
Don't give a shit, just show me the results ;)

They don't seem to "cutesy"? Would you respect a Man with those names?
  • I'm hesitant about Christian because I'm afraid there will be a million of them because of the 50 Shades obsession.
  • I voted Chance, but I like Cooper as well.

Not to me. I voted Chance just because I'm a big fan of House MD.  :P

Dammit! No you're right. Sadly, I'm thinking of the dog from Homeward Bound. Was talking about that movie with my mom earlier. Wow... pregnancy brain for the win.  X_X

I seriously just laughed so hard. Thanks you!! How did you confuse Chase with a dog?? That baby is eating some serious brain cells. :))
  • I voted Chance, but Carter is a close second for me.  Don't take this the wrong way, but I think of a dog when I hear Cooper.  Or Hangin' w/ Mr. Cooper.

I voted Christian. I definitely don't see it becoming the next Bella or anything. I like more traditional names.

Eta: congrats on being taggable! @robsbabygirl08‌

  • Another vote for Carter followed by Cooper.

I won't take anything wrong, that's why I asked for your opinion. I need to hear from people who won't sugar coat it like friends or family tend to do.
  • I love Carter! Partly cause I don't know of anybody by that name, but I just like it the best! Would be good as a grown up name, too

  • I really like Carter, but they're all pretty good.
  • I picked Chance because Cooper sounds like a dog's name and Carter is too popular and I don't like the way Christian sounds with Robert. But really I don't mind Christian so I guess you really wouldn't be saying "Robert Christian" together very often so either I would be cool with! I guess for me, Chance is a guilty pleasure name so it would be cool to call him that because if he needed to sound more "professional" (in some people's opinions) he could just go by Robert!
  • I like Carter or Christian. I don't care for Cooper and Chance seems like a pet name. I like Chase more than Chance.

I prefer Chase too, but I already have a cousin with that name.
  • I picked Carter but I honestly like them all

Too bad you already have a cousin named that because I also prefer that name!
  • I voted Carter and would choose Christian second.  Also nothing against going by a middle name, my mom is Roberta Yvonne (after her dad Robert) and has always gone by Yvonne.

  • I read all of the middle names as a first name and I really like Carter. I think it's a good, respectable name. I feel like the other names are cute but a little juvenile delinquent-y
  • I honestly think they're all good names, but I'm liking Christian and Carter the most. I think they will be great for all stages of his life. And yeah, now that it's been pointed out, Cooper and Chance make me think of dog names. Chance makes me think of the dog from Homeward Bound.
  • I voted Cooper (I agree with @grumpycat88‌ I think it sounds like a good adult name, while still sounding cute). I guess I don't know many dogs named Cooper because it really doesn't sound like a dog name to me... But I really like all the names you've picked!

  • Cooper! ... Idk if it's a regional thing (I'm in Southern Cal), but I've never known a dog by that name AND it's my adorable 9 yo nephews name and I love it! I think Carter would prob be my second choice.

  • I vote Carter. I really like that name.

Idk if you mentioned this already but is there a reason all the names begin with a 'C'? Just curious. :)

  • I agree with Chance and Cooper being pet names. As proven by the Homeward Bound mix up! I voted Carter because it seems like a name he can grow with and be respected with as an adult. I would have a hard time taking someone named "Chance" seriously. I think Carter sounds best with Robert as well.
  • Voted for Christian (I have always loved that name), but Cooper is a close second!

DH wanted another generation of Robert "C" and I'm okay with that.
  • I voted Cooper because I'm all about shortened nicknames...like Coop.

  • I knew a very nice guy in college and his name was Chance, so I'm in the minority, I picked Chance. I'm not that fond of the other names, and I think Robert Chance sounds the best together when you say the whole name.
