Infant formula- acetaminophen dosage

My poor son is teething pretty badly. I broke down and gave him 2.5ML of the CVS brand of acetaminophen. He threw up 30 seconds after. Is it OK to re dose him you think? Thanks!

I personally wouldn't. How quickly does the body take in/absorb that sort of thing? I'm thinking 30 minutes would be long enough for it to kick in and anything more would be double dosing.

I really have no clue though. This hasn't happened with LO yet, but when it did with DS1 I never gave him a second dose.

Sorry your LO isn't feeling so great. Teething sucks. Hang in there.

ETA I re-read this and I see you said 30 seconds, not minutes. I'm still not sure if I'd do a second dose.

  • The more I think about it, the more certain I am that I would not do a second dose.
  • Not with Tylenol, I wouldn't. Taking too much Tylenol is pretty dangerous.

I also don't give Tylenol for teething. Ibuprofen has a much better effect.
