What region/location is baby?

Just curious to see what side/region your baby favors.

This little one is a very low lying baby. My placenta is actually at the very bottom of my uterus (never had that with the other two), and when they try to find the baby on u/s, they have to go waaaaay low to my pelvic bone area to find it and press hard. It also favors my lower left side.

I guess that explains why I can no longer cross my legs without feeling uncomfortable!

Re: What region/location is baby?

  • How do you know what position your baby is in all the time? I can tell you where my baby was at my last u/s but I don't know where it is now.

Not all the time (it will move a little), but my question was: What area does it prefer? Do you notice it more on your left side? Your right? Higher? Lower?
  • I can't tell either at all times. At my last appointment one was high and one was low. It took a while to find the HB for the one up high since he/she was parallel to my baby button.

  • Last u/s LO was right by my belly button and on my left side. That is always where I have been feeling little bits of movement so she must like to hang out over there :)

  • I'm only 12w3d the baby isn't moving around much from side to side yet because it's still small. It started off closer to my pelvic bone around 9 weeks and is slowly moving up. I'm sure once I get farther along it will move a lot more from side to side. My husband checked this past weekend and the sac is still behind the pelvic bone. He's a Dr so I trust him to feel where the sac is, that's about the extent that he checks.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Oh so you're talking about on ultrasounds then, right? In that case, I guess it would be my left side since that's where it was last time.

  • I'm confused are you talking about Doppler or us? I'm going off Doppler and it's not moving much from side to side.

  • I'm confused are you talking about Doppler or us? I'm going off Doppler and it's not moving much from side to side.

Either. Just where he/she generally hangs out. You and I are due around the same time, so our baby's don't have much moving room, but with both Doppler and u/s, this one is lying very, very low and in the left corner.

Per my Doppler mine started out low to the right, exactly where the Dr inserted it during my FET. It's moving up out of the pelvic bone and to the left. It's in the exact same spot every day right now.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Up until about 13-ish weeks baby was on my lower right side. Since then baby has been more center or a little left of center right below my belly button which is slightly higher up than before. I use a doppler every night so that's how I figure movement, otherwise I cannot tell baby's position.

  • Going by my doppler, the baby is lying low and on the right side. It would freak me out if I couldn't find him/her on the right side. I know it may move one day, but I am not prepared.
  • The last two times DR used Doppler he was on my right side. Also the movement that I've felt so far has been on my right side as well.

My baby is generally hanging out in my belly. That's all I know.
I would assume there is a bar that he/she is leaning against having a beer possibly
Haha! Mine is probably having a margarita since that used to be my drink of choice.

  • Mine is always on the right, and high. My uterus is tilted (top forward) and I actually can "see" where it pokes out further on the right. The same thing happened with my oldest son, he was always on the right. Second child was only on the left. 16 weeks tomorrow!
  • Every time I find baby on the doppler s/he is low and to the right.

  • I haven't had an u/s yet, but baby typically favors the right (because when I'm feeling my ute I can tell when baby is in a spot because that side gets harder and the other side is not as hard)

  • Is it weird that I have no idea?  I've only had one ultrasound.  I've had the doppler done twice in the office so far but I am just so concerned with hearing a heartbeat I'm not paying attention to where the doppler is.

No, it isn't weird. Sometimes a baby is all over the place. You just may have a wild one, in there!
  • Man.... and here I was all excited that this week if I lay on my back and I feel a nice hard baby bump! But when I stand up it disappears into my "abs" (just go with it!)

And now I feel like "well shit....I don't know where she is! Why don't I know that!)

  • With the doppler I find the baby very low and towards the middle but slightly toward the left.

  • I feel like mine is rolling all over my stomach like a hamster in a ball....  Every few hours I feel flutters in a different spot!
  • Lower left.

Although I've felt movement dead center near belly button and low right.

Typically she is preferring the left, which is weird bc my boys preferred the rights

Not weird as in odd but it's a different feeling to feel that little ball of baby in a new location versus the others!

  • I have no clue... At my u/s 3 weeks ago the tech said baby was nestled in my pelvic bone.

@Pintobean39‌, what specialty is your husband? DH did 2 years of surgery and is switching into a radiology residency, if I asked him to tell me where the baby was he'd just roll his eyes at me. I thought he'd be more useful during this pregnancy. Wrong.

He's family practice.  It's been about 5 years since he did ob so I don't trust him for much of anything.  Sometimes I forget he knows the details about pregnancy because he is still so clueless what is going on with me sometimes.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Doppler has shown baby on my lower left side the most lately. I feel most of the movement on the left as well with occasional movement up higher :)
