Had my midwife appt yesterday. I asked my mfm and midwife last appt about doing a water birth. They said they'd need to discuss it with each other and ask other midwives what they thought. They held a meeting and I was brought up. The midwives were all in agreement that my velamentous cord shouldn't hinder me having a water birth. They then called my mfm Dr. Into their meeting to get her take and she agreed, that a water birth should be OK, as long as everything is looking good from here on out and during labor. I'll need to have a NST before I get into the tub, and as long as baby passes that, and shows no signs of distress during labor it's a go! I may not even use the tub, it may not help me, but the option is there if I choose which I'm really excited about. So, I'm a little annoyed though. I've gained 16 lbs (which I don't think it's that much, maybe 10 lbs.... But she says 16.) And she told me I need to slow my weight gain. Granted I'm over weight, so the goal is 20 lbs Max, but she kept using the word 'Obese' and told me more than once that I'm twice as likely to have a still birth. That's always hard to hear, because I'm already at risk with the velamentous cord, but she was referring to my 'weight gain' that I'm twice as likely. I have such a high anxiety already that he won't be coming home with us, so it was a hard to swallow that she actually drove that point home. Ugh. I felt I was doing pretty good with my weight and trying to keep positive that he'll be OK.... so it was just hard. Anyway, I go again in 2 weeks too my midwife and my mfm and start my official weekly visits with my mfm.

Little Mermaid, and 101 Dalmatians!
dafuq? seriously she said that to you? Because of weight gain or because of other factors? I mean I understand there are other risk factors with the cord, but I can't wrap my head around that. I'm sorry she's causing you more anxiety.
Yes, with my weight gain alone. I'm already over weight, so yeah I get it that's risky. ...It was just hard to hear, and more then once. ...
@labellavida are you "advanced maternal age" too? I really just can't believe they said that to you. I'm starting out way heavier than last time, I haven't gained at all (I know it's coming), but I just cannot fathom them putting that into your head.
Nope. I'm 30.
Eta: I know 'statistics' say yes, your at a higher risk being over weight, but twice as likely! ? Then on top of my cord issue. ...idk, I've gotta just keep telling myself it'll all be alright. I'm looking forward to the weekly monitoring here soon, I think that'll help me get through the next 10 weeks without thoughts of loosing him.
20 weeks! Halfway there. It's passing so much quicker this time.
April 6
Feeling okay. Def can't bend over easily anymore. I'm much bigger already than I was with P. But haven't found a pic to compare with yet. I also feel like I'm carrying higher.
Have our AS Thursday! Can't wait!! Hope everything looks good! Don't have my next Dr appt till Dec 17 @ 24 weeks. I thought it was kinda weird going two months in between, but whatever.
Favorite Disney film. Hmm. I guess Beauty and the Beast. Or Cinderella. Or I also really like Robin Hood. Lol
Okay so I have a stupid question but don't want to ask my other BMB.
The last two days I keep getting this heavy feeling in my arms. They feel heavy and hurt a little. It's a weird pain, kind of dull. Should I be concerned or what could it be from?
@RedCherry1109 have you had your thyroid levels checked? My mom and sister complain about this symptom sometimes and for them it's an indication that their levels/meds are off.
How are you feeling? Really stressed out, but totally not related to this pregnancy. Achy all over, and probably have a sinus infection brewing.
Appts? Updates? GBS test today. They'll give me results next week. I may have a little PTSD from this weekend's ER trip. The mere mention of penicillin made me really anxious. BabyGirl is still head-down, which is really great news. I scheduled my next 4 appointments!
GTKY: favorite Disney movie? Top 3- Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Oliver and Company.
How are you feeling? Great today. A little stuffy but nothing to too bad. Ive been wanting nothing but cold fruit or yogurt. Was in a funk but I'm better now.
