I haven't been to a funeral since I was a child. Is it disrespectful to wear dress pants and a sweater or should I wear a dress? My pants are pretty baggy because of weight loss, not sure what to do. Also, not sure why I'm super stressing about it since it's not really important but I am. It will be in the 50s when the service starts.
I think dress pants are fine. I've been to funerals where women have worn pants, and I didn't give it a second thought.
My sister is talking about sleep training her F15 baby. Immidiately. Like from the day she is born... I'm totally ok with ST, but it's taking everything I have to not call her a lunatic... she was telling me that T should be STTN by now, and her kid will be 12 hours by 12 weeks, bc she's reading a book.
Good luck with that home slice 8-}
I know someone who did the 12 hours by 12 weeks and swore by it. She only fed her (breastfed) baby on a very strict 4-hour schedule 8:00am, 12:00pm, 4:00pm and 8:00pm. No bottles or nursing overnight.
She also put rice cereal in her bottles so serious side-eye for that.
I haven't seen/heard from her since our one and only conversation about it so I have no idea if it worked long term.
breadpudding I used the Miracle Gel top coat and it started chipping the next day. My friend had her polish last 10 days using the polish and top coat. What am I doing wrong?
carissalynp Shellac manicures are the bomb diggity but I just don't have the time to go regularly.
I decided to wear a dress. I'm at my mom's waiting to leave. Also, our church or churches around here are more laid back. Some people dress up and some wear jeans but I know what you mean by your rule of thumb.
I feel like poo right now, so the toddler is watching Frozen for the millionth time and the baby is licking the glass in the French doors. He seems totally content to do so.
So I accidentally just posted an ad on care.com that I was still in the process of drafting but lunch was over and I closed the site. Apparently care decided I needed to find a sitter now. Does it look bad if I go back and edit it? Because it's just got the cheesy pre-filled language right now.
So what are everyone's thoughts on baby Oragel? I know some advise against using it...but I'm tempted to try some before a nap to see if she'll sleep...
I can't see the house across the street from us. Our street has not been plowed. The National Guard is coming. This is the worst weather I've ever experienced -- and we had two blizzards last winter.
@shellbell3845 Holy crap, even for tiyr area that's insane! When is it supposes to stop? Will there be another snow day tomorrow?
Oh yeah. Some schools have already called off. Streets have not been plowed. The next town over -- 10/22 plows were stuck. The snow is also not expected to stop.
Interestingly enough, 20 minutes north of my house? Sunny day.
@TessyMessy the warm kind? It blows through the vent thingies. (DH has gone outside to clear the pipe things if that's what we're worried about. He also cleared the neighbor's.)

Haha just wondering if it was electric heat... I would worry about a power outage with that much snow
I am staying inside. I am warm. I am not BBQing. I would really like pizza, but I will not test my delivery man. I will cross my fingers the heat stays on. Our power lines are under ground so we don't lose power often. I will probably go crazy if DH is home again tomorrow
@TessyMessy I am still on page 4 (in case someone already told you about this tip) but always make sure to "seal" your top coat by running the brush on the tip of your nail. Not just the top, but also the tip. (The part that would come into contact with a table if tapping on it with your nails.) Often times we think we have painted the top perfectly, but even the tiniest uncovered spot will start a chip. Running your nail polish brush over the tips with cover anything you've accidentally missed.
@utpony it's brutal! I'm currently stuck in bed with lo attached to my boob sleeping. I have an intense neck cramp but no way in heck I'm moving! I just hope once her tooth cuts (I can see it, it should cut any day) that she will go back to normal and that this hasn't ruined her sleep patterns.
@shellbell3845 Geeze!!!! That's an insane amount of snow! I love snow, and I was jealous of your flurries... but the line had to be drawn somewhere. And it was definitely crossed. Stay safe and warm.
So the service today was nice. A beautiful eulogy and a video chronicling his life focusing on his 60 years of marriage. It was a little strange as I haven't seen most of that side of the family in 18ish years. It made me think about how different my life would be had my mom and stepdad never divorced. I surprised myself by getting up to speak but i would have regretted it if i hadn't. I didn't know they would have something like that.
I just turned on the weather channel in hopes that I'd see $hellbell make a cameo appearance.
You must have just missed me. I was teaching people how to make ice cream from snow. Because how awesome would it be if we could turn this mess into ice cream?!
I'm trying to decide if I feel crappy enough to go to the ER. I was puking this morning, and I still feel terrible. My stomach knots up if I'm not lying in a fetal position. I know I'm being a total AW drama queen here, but really? What do you guys think?

Trust your gut.
Hoping everything's okay.
My gut feels like someone is trying to pull it out through my navel.

(((@mummypig))) I'm glad you are getting closure.
TyrannosaurusLex I made a squash soup a few weeks ago and the recipe called for coconut milk, curry and ginger. It was amazing.
1. I can't wait to see your new nutcrackers! This is so exciting!
2. Your DH... 95% sure... How, um, awesome?
::hugs:: @mummypig, may she rest in peace.

They're talking 70inches of snow.

@Mamosey I love the red cast. Very festive. You could stripe it like candy cane.
Work is kicking my ass this week. I'm making pancakes for dinner because easy. We have to leave for karate in 45 minutes.
