I stand by what I said in spam. One kid versus 2 has been the difference in enjoying going out. Maybe also 2 very young, as if there was a bigger gap it might be easier.

Eta: we still go out about once a week, often for an early lunch.

About twice a month here. Lately it's been less, because I'm enjoying cooking and baking.

Also, it's not Owen who causes a scene, believe it or not.... it's my older ones. They fight, and bicker and it's embarrassing, so we'd just rather not go out.

We do take her and she isn't bad in the fact that she is noisy or makes a mess but she will not sit still. She usually sits on my lap and colours and we try to distract her until the food comes at which point she will sit in the chair and be well behaved. Sometimes we take her for walks by the entrance of the restaurant. She likes to move

I we eat out every Friday because I'm usually stuck home all week and I feel like I should be able to get and enjoy it.

We do a lot more lunches out than dinners, but LO is almost always really good.

We got out quite a bit with Grayson. He's usually pretty good. We even go out just the 2 of us a lot.

We take her out to breakfast/brunch about every other weekend. It's different every time. Sometimes she's pretty good as long as she's eating and other times she runs around the restaurant. I'm thankful for the kind people around us who engage her and think she's cute not annoying.

Pretty often - 2ish times a week. She's good if there's a lot of people to watch and food to eat. She's often better at a restaurant than home.

Life would be a lot different if DH wasn't so adamant about no screens at the table! Almost every other parent has kids 2-10ish with some device when we go out. I know DH judges them but I'm just jealous!

I completely agree with this at home, and even in a restaurant once they reach a certain age. But I want to enjoy my meal out and if I can buy enough time to finish eating while M plays a Fisher Price app, I'm gonna do it. No shame. At about 5 or so I expect them to have enough attention span to sit still and talk with us at the table. Even 4 maybe.

We take B a couple times a month and he does pretty well. We've started turning off the tv and eating together at the dinner table this week and I'm hoping it helps translate to easier restaurant trips. It's already helped him to eat what we eat and try more things.

I have a 7,4 and 1 year old and we never bring electronics out to dinner with us. They bring then in the car though. It's nice to be able to sit and eat with your kids and not have them ignore you.

We go out to eat at least a couple of times a month. LO is very good at restaurants but price-wise it adds up so we don't want to do it too often.
