Since this is a month to give thanks, let's hear what you are thankful for.
I am thankful for all of the lovely ladies that share there stories, show support, give advise, care for each other, and build blanket forts with snacks and booze. We have all experienced great loss but we have gained some awesome friends.

Re: ♡♡♡AMA Check-in 11 / 17♡♡♡

  • Hey @rubysi :)

I am plugging along. I had a serious sit down talk with myself Friday which includes quite the ass kicking. I was in a bit of a funk with the EDD and all but I realized I am not doing myself any favors by sitting around, eating everything in site, and gaining weight. So, I made myself do 5 workouts last week and I started eating a bit healthier (well, after Thursday night when I had my ice cream for dinner lol)

My goal is to now to lose at least a few pounds before my RE visit on Dec 17th. My other goal is to try to keep my spirits high.

I know the holiday season is a big trigger for some ladies, I know they are for me. I hope that you all get through ok *hugs*

I am also very thankful to all the ladies here. I am so very glad that others share their stories, thoughts, and feelings. It makes me not feel so alone in my journey. MH is so very awesome but there is just something about sharing this with others who have gone through the physical part of it. :x

I am also thankful for my job that allows MH and I to live a comfortable life and helps me care for my father. Sometimes I forget about that among all the bitching I do about it!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

I find it helps to set goals it gives us something to think about other than loss. I like ice cream for dinner occasionally.  I like the things you have to be thankful for. ((Hugs))

Thanks for the check in lady! @rubysi

Coming up on my FW here so I've started to do OKS so I don't miss it this time. ;) Just planning on HIO and crossing all fingers.

Today is our 7th anniversary! I got some steaks to grill for dinner and we'll probably have a fire and watch the game tonight.

    (((hugs))) to all my ladies!

Happy Anniversary!  Enjoy you dinner and the game.

  • Thank you so much @holdingouthope :) I have actually been participating in the healthy living check in and it's been helping me. I enjoyed going in there last night and having more good/proud to say rather than use all my update on the bad lol

Good luck with the O and with your follow up appointment tomorrow. FX for you.

I love Chi-town although I have only been there twice. Both times MH and I made sure we hit all the places that have been on man vs food so I understand you worrying about falling off the wagon for that trip. Do what I do, order something and split it, that way you don't eat the whole thing. (And since the Bucs are doing so horrible and they are my team I feel it necessary that I at least say "
    go bucs!")
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @holdingouthope I am excited to know there is another Bucs fan running around here :D I completely understand you wearing a Bears shirt. Just make sure you don't get overly excited when the Bucs do something good or you may get weird looks. I did that once at a hockey game MH and I were at in DC. I am a Bolts fan and, being from DC area, he's a Capitals fan. I wore a Caps shirt (so I wouldn't get my ass kicked) but had a Bolts shirt on underneath. I still almost got my ass kicked anyway when the Bolts scored  and I jumped up and down LOL

@yellowcat10 Congrats on finishing the book! I envy people that are creative enough, and have enough patience, to write books.

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Hi @rubysi. Thank you for the check-in. How are you doing this week?

@nikolie93 ~ Big (((hugs))) to you, lady. I'm right there with you on the trying to be healthier train! Feel free to PM me anytime if you need to chat/get some motivation, OK? Also, if you haven't already joined in, there is a great healthy living check-in on the board that km380 is running as well. :)

AFM: I think I'm Oing today, and we've decided to go for it despite my anxiety. Luckily MH has been the one pushing for good timing, so all I've had to do is lay back and relax. ;) Tomorrow is my follow up with the RE and I confirmed today that she has received the results of my endometrial biopsy, so we will actually have some test results to talk about tomorrow (though the results likely won't change any of her recommendations for "treatment").

MH and I are going to Chi-Town this coming weekend for a fun little getaway, and we will be watching the Bears vs Bucs game at Soldier Field. I'm a little nervous about the weather (I am NOT a cold weather girl!!), but I am excited. :) This is week 2 working out with my trainer and sticking to my eating plan from the nutritionist & I am doing really well and enjoying it! But again, a little nervous about the monkey wrench this trip will throw into my routine. I don't think it's possible to go to Chicago and not eat a Chicago dog at Portillo's!! @-)

This week I am definitely thankful for the wonderful women of TTCAL, and especially the members of this check-in and the Multiple Loss check-in. I don't know where I would be without all of you. :x I am also thankful for the ability to work from home, which really cuts down on the stress I was experiencing in DC with all the commuting and ridiculous traffic and hours. I am also thankful for my crazy German Shepherd, who keeps me company during the day. :) And the amazing volunteer organization to which I belong. I am a lucky girl indeed.
I like the idea of the H pushing for good timing. Enjoy your getaway and don't stress about treating yourself while you are away. Just make a plan to get back into your routine.I know easier said than done. I hope your results have some answers for you.

I love my Shepard too. She is miniature she us a Shepard corgi and looks like a Shepard that lost half her leg length...so cute.

  • Thanks for the check-in!

    @furrypaws Happy Anniversary

@HoldingOutHope have a fun trip.  You will probably be walking a lot in the city so that should cancel out some of the food.  Plus being outside and cold trying to stay warm burns more calories.  When I am working a winter project I eat twice as much as normal.

AFM: I FINALLY finished my book, but the editor I am working with is MIA.  Hopefully her replacement will still take it, otherwise I will need to find a new publisher.  I am not stressed, at least it is written which will be easier to get printed.  And the house is almost ready for my family to invade!

I have two more days of BCP then a monitoring appointment on Thursday to see if I can start IVF meds.
Congrats on the book completion!  What a fantastic accomplishment. FX you are good to go with your appointment. Invasion in 10 more days ;)

  • @rubysi - Thanks for the check-in honey.  How are you?

@Nikolie93 - I'm glad that you had an ass-kicking talk with yourself and that you've found some motivation to eat and live healthier.  I went through a similar experience 3 months ago.  Good luck with your weight loss before your RE visit!

@furrypaws - Happy Anniversary!  Have fun HIO.

@HoldingOutHope - Have fun this weekend and excellent job with your training and eating.  There's nothing wrong with cheating a bit on vacation.  Just be extra-good beforehand.  ;)  Good luck at your appointment!

@yellowcat10 - Congrats on finishing your book!  =D>  Good luck at your appointment.

    @medic7979 - Welcome!

AFM:  I'm just sitting here at 9DPO, waiting for AF.  I really have no clue if I'm feeling hopeful or not yet.  With it being my first cycle trying again I think that it can't possibly happen when it took me so long last time.  But then I think how much earlier my O was and a glimmer of hope is there.  I guess I should just board the CT because I'm definitely feeling it.  I have no plans to test until maybe Friday, but I'm sure that AF will be here by then.  See...hope for a second, then no hope.

I'm thankful for this community, but especially the veterans that are here with such wonderful knowledge and advice.  The way they protect all of us and give support despite their struggles is amazing!

  • Hi @medic7979 :-h Welcome!

@rmpar29 thanks! I hope that I stay on the wagon. The holidays is always the hardest time to do this.

I know what you mean by one second hope, the next second it's gone. So very frustrating. FX for you!

  • Hi ladies,
I just got back from my RE appointment.  I had an u/s bloodwork and the post-coital testing.  My RE had a flat tire so another doc ended up doing the test and then when I got home the office called and said that my doc wants me to come back for another u/s and more bloodwork on thursday.
I had a lead follie that was 16 mm and my E2 was 188.  Based in that the doc said I should O in the next 3-4 days so I guess the next u/s and bloodwork is to make sure that happens/is happening.  The postcoital test was pretty cool.  He took some CM and put it on a slide and I could see a few sperm swimming around in it.  My HSG was clear which was good.
My other news sucks.  The job I was hoping would pan out isn't and I'm pretty crushed about it. I hate that my career is a disaster.  H and I decided that if this doesn't pan out by next summer we will look into moving somewhere I can get a job as well.  I hate it because H loves his job here and we both like where we live.

I am thankful my H is supportive of all this craziness.  Without him I don't know where I would be.  I am also really thankful for my bump friends.

  • @HoldingOutHope I'm in Chicago!  How fun!!  Games at Soldier Field are the best! PS, Portillos cheeseburgers are amazing with cheese fries, of course, and I highly recommend that along with a chocolate cake shake.  OMG.  To die for. As for pizza, it's GOT to be Lou Malnati's.  I'm sorry, but falling off your diet wagon for one weekend may be worth it.  Hope you have a great trip!!
@medic7979‌ ~ ::drool:: I haven't tried Portillos cheeseburgers. And a chocolate cake shake? OMG. I've already convinced MH we have to try Lou Malnati's. I don't think I've tried it before. Can't wait! :)
Now you two have made me hungry! I am a few thousand miles away so I am safe from such temptation...mmm

  • My update... I am on my first medicated IUI cycle. Possibly pending my Vitamin D test. The iui is out of pocket for me and vitamin D deficiency is associated with poor egg quality, I would wait until my levels are better if I need to. I gave my blood sample this morning.

I am in the middle of my English toffee making marathon. I make all of my xmas gifts except the dh's. I also got the holiday lights on the house up.

  • @VesperLynch‌ sounds like you have a lot going on with the house! I want to do so much, like remodel the kitchen, but it seems so daunting to me! MH and I tend to think we can tackle most anything but I fear we would be contenders for that show "renovation disasters" or something lol

As for the food, I'm going to make my salad and try to convince my taste buds that I'm eating Chicago pizza and hot dogs...
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Hi, @rubysi, and thanks for the check-in! How's things?

@Nikolie93 - You go, girl! That's awesome that you have found a way to break out of the funk. It can be so hard.

@furrypaws - Congrats! The 7-year itch! Have fun....yum, steaks sound great.

@HoldingOutHope - Cheering for you too! Week 2 sticking to a plan is awesome. And how nice is it to just lie there sometimes, getting spoiled? Hope the weather cooperates with your plans!

@yellowcat10 - woohoo, congrats on the book! That is an awesome achievement. FX the editing goes well and in a timely manner.

@medic7979 - welcome! Good of you to join us.

AFM, I'm getting ready to grade, grade, grade. Not a big pile, just trying to move them along...the next home improvement project is taking shape as I am deciding what color to paint our downstairs bathroom--it has this sand/khaki-colored tile in the shower (hello, 70s!), so finding a color that works with it is not super easy. But I know for sure I am painting the dining room, which has been red since we moved into the house, in the same color as the living room, which is an off-white. While I'm at it, I'll paint the hallway, which is the same sand color as the bathroom, in the same off-white. I'm hoping this will make the downstairs brighter overall. Also, my family is coming over for Christmas, and I want it to look pretty :-) On top of that, DH has made up his mind to remodel the master bathroom. Whew...TTCAL related, I deleted the FF app. But I was very aware of the EWCM last week and that we may have HIO around the right time...no high hopes here, but silly me still starts smiling at the thought of "getting lucky."

I'm thankful for you guys on this board...what an anchor you have been this year! Generally, I'm thankful for my life, which I like a lot. Big hugs, everyone!  >:D<
That is a long home improvement list, though I like painting and love changing colors too. You have about 5 weeks to get ready for xmas...it's plenty of time.

  • Hi everyone!

    @medic7979 welcome.

I've been insanely busy.  I have worked for 7 days straight and I have another 3 to go.  I am exhausted.

My MRI went well (I guess - I haven't looked at the CD for fear of convincing myself I have a malignant tumor or something and the radiologist may not have looked at it yet so I suppose it could go either way on results).

Otherwise I am just trying to stay awake long enough to say hi here and write my check in.
    I-)

Sorry for the lack of personal responses.  I hope everyone has a good week.

  • @meredithcarole‌ glad your MRI went well. I wouldn't look at the CD either. I'd see all kinds of stuff Lol I hope your last 3 days goes quickly and you get some goes off after that long haul!

@VesperLynch‌ MH and I watch so many shows like that. I need to stop watching the crasher shows, I get so jealous. The one with the DIY renovation nightmares makes me cringe haha

@VesperLynch - good luck with the remodeling!

@rubysi - I hope your Vit D number comes back high so you can start your cycle.  When do you expect to hear back?

@furrypaws - Kudos to your DH!  I hope your "gift" went well!  ;)

@meredithcarole - I hope the next 3 days go quickly so you can get some sleep hon.

AFM: Big temp drop this AM, so I'm out.  I was really expecting it though, so I'm not surprised.  It's OK, on to the next cycle.

@tlc35 sorry about the job, that really sucks.  We are in a similar spot here, I have a fulltime position but MH is part time.  We decided to give my college one more year before we both look elsewhere.

@VesperLynch wow!  I like watching home improvement shows but have zero desire to do any of it!  I am impressed by all the work you guys have done!  I am with @Nikolie93 we would destroy anything we touched.
