You are NOT crazy @pinkcamino! Not at all. We have had multiple run ins with our Vet in the last year and have spent over $2000 between the two animals... The cat had to have her thyroid out and the Dog had 32 kidney stones removed. pets are family... they are our fur babies. I know it's a hit to the budget, but I would have done the same thing. Hugs to you and kitty!

I have spent plenty of $$$ on my dogs between tumor removals, eye surgeries...dont' get me started on emergency vet visits due to ingesting things they shouldn't (starbucks k cups anyone).
You get a pet you have a responsibility to them...some days that responsibility is not cheap and that sucks.
Hope this is the the final chapter in this injury. poor kitty.

NOT CRAZY. I spent around $1,400 when my love, Freckles, was just a kitten because an emergency vet told me she had a "blockage" which she could pass, would make her bleed to death or would just friggin kill her. After update phone calls all through the night, and rushing to check on her the moment they opened, I was told they found nothing, and it may have "just been gas." If anything, some veterinarians are money hungry incompetents, but I love my fur baby, and I treasure my days with her, as expensive as they may have been years ago. (Photo is sideways, never uploaded a pic straight from computer before)
Yeah, I'm right there with you. I did a $1500 hip surgery on one of my cats and people thought it was crazy but she was only 7 and I couldn't possibly let her live in that pain and limp around and hope it healed itself. Glad she's doing better- sorry it was such an ordeal to manage though.
