Thoughts? How would you pronounce it? Is this a made up youneek name? It's on our list and I can't remember where we saw it. I love Delilah a as a name but due to family tradition, all girls names end in an A. I like the pronunciation "Da-lee-ah

Re: Dalila

  • Dalila looks like a horrible butchering of Delilah. I would pronounce it the same way (De-LIE-la) while shaking my head. I've never seen a name pronounced the way you suggest - the closest would be Delia but I pronounce that DEAR-lee-a.
  • Either use Delilah or Dahlia. This looks like someone just got confused on which one they were going for.

  • No to Dalila.

    What about Adelia or Delia.

  • Thanks everyone. You know when you've repeated a name out loud so many times you don't know what you're saying anymore? We're there. I like Adelia and Dahlia

  • I actually looked at it and struggled to say it out loud. Dahlia is lovely.
  • I would suggest Delia or Dahlia if you want to end it in an A.
  • Personally, I loooove Dalila. I had an Italian student named Dalila. She pronounced it duh-LEE-luh. Not made up at all and so pretty. A great alternative to Delilah with its beautiful sound and nasty namesake.

  • We are considering Dahlia.  It's a family name.
  • If you like that pronunciation, definitely use Dahlia
