PIO injection question?

I'm In the 2ww, had ET on Thursday. Have been doing PIO injections every morning since the day after ER. When I first learned we needed to do IVF my biggest fear was this injection. Now it's the least of my worries but I do have one fear and I'm hoping someone can relate. My husband has been giving them to me every morning right where my doctor told him, upper butt. Oddly, they really don't hurt at all. A tiny bit sore to the touch after but not anything like what I've heard others say in fact I barely feel the actual injection. Not complainting but it occurred to me today that maybe we're doing it wrong. Is it possible for this shot to not hurt that bad? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Want to make sure we're doing it right.

I honestly don't feel the shot much when it goes in, especially if my husband does it quickly. I actually feel like the shot hurts less going in than the sub-q ones, but I'm more sore afterwards. I think it helps having him do it for me vs. doing it myself because that way I'm not overthinking it. Although I'm super worried because DH is going out of town Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm going to have to do it myself.

@jellybean1106‌ I agree, I think the sub-q ones in my stomach hurt more. I did all of them myself. Don't know if I could give this to myself though. I have a little tenderness after but not terrible. A girl who I cycled with and became friendly with said hers are terribly painful, I guess for once I got lucky.

The nurse at my RE's office literally drew circles on my butt so that my husband knew where to do the injection. We re-draw the circles every couple days as they fade. It looks ridiculous, but it definitely helps his anxiety level since he has a clear target to hit.

It rarely hurt me.. A few times I didn't even feel it at all and wouldn't have known he out the needle in if he didn't tell me!

@jellybean1106 I used this video when I started PIO too. DH never had any trouble with placement.

When doing PIO I had hardly any pain at all during the injection. I agree with PP that Menopur hurt more than this did.

If you are doing it in the right spot, it really shouldn't hurt too much. I have been doing the shots since Halloween and the spots are a little tender but no real pain. 

Though I found that when I had my husband do the shots, it hurt more than when I do them myself. Shhh don't tell him that....

I agree with pp, the Menopur was the worst, it would burn. The big needle is so intimidating but I feel so silly for being so scared of this, I wish this was the worst part of the IVF process. @BlueJoan‌ a few times it did hurt a little and I have a little soreness but not like what I expected. Of course I worry about everything.
