Harmony test

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone took the Harmony test (including gender portion) and later found out the gender reading was wrong. We took it, due to my age, and found everything was normal (thank God!). It also told is we are having another baby boy. I was seriously shocked. Everything in me felt it was definitely a girl. So I've been trying to do some research on this test being inaccurate and found a few posts talking about if you've had a boy before then his Y cells could be picked up by the test as they could still be in you. We have one son, and have had two mc's (not sure of their gender). So, I'm curious if Harmony was wrong for you. (I know there are other gender tests available but I'm strictly looking for your results with Harmony as that's the one I had.) Thanks, ladies!

Re: Harmony test

  • I have a 9yo DS then we had two MC before DD was conceived. We took the Verifi test (same type of test, just a different brand name) with her at 12 weeks and it said girl, which was obviously correct for us. I did ask them HOW the results were recorded and passed on - with DS I had an amnio and my chart said "girl", shocking everyone in the delivery room. Turns out the typewritten file was mis-transcribed that time.

  • I haven't taken those tests...but from the moment we had found out I just knew I was having a boy. Everything about this pregnancy was different from my other 3 pregnancies which were all the same...no ms what so ever. This time I had ms and felt absolutely like poo. But 2 a/s ultrasounds later and they still say I am having another girl. Sometimes are inner self likes to play jokes on us or maybe it will get the last laugh in the delivery room. ;)

I would be shocked if such a specialized test was wrong. It you were told boy, you're 99% having a boy... No matter how much you want a girl. 99% bc that's the test accuracy I think. Cheer up, nothing wrong with having two of the same sex. We were told girl this time after Harmony and anatomy scan. I guess we'll find out for sure on Tuesday.
  • 99% accurate basically the same as amnio and cvs. I thought having another boy, exact same pregnancy symptoms and its a girl through harmony and U/S ...
