Hand numbness

At 38 weeks I started having bilateral hand numbness chalked it up to pregnancy induced carpal tunnel ( I have talked to my OB about this ) well I am 7 weeks postpartum and still have the numbness anyone else still having issues with pregnancy induced carpal tunnel ??? If so what'd your docs say? Mine just basically told me if it doesn't resolve in a couple more weeks to see my regular physician

Re: Hand numbness

  • Sadly yes. I called my OB 3 or 4 weeks after delivery since it was freaking me out and was pretty much told the same thing. It's been 9 weeks now and I can't tell if I'm just used to it, or it's starting to get a little better. I have my pap next week and will bring it up again. I'm afraid of just being told to go to my regular physician. No fun :( the numbness is just so damn annoying.

  • It really is.. It gets worse at night Im a nurse and unfortunately the numbness is worse in my dominant IV starting hand we'll see how this goes when I return to work I think it'll be fine it's just really SUPER annoying I can't even feel how soft my LOs hair is with my right hand Hopefully it resolves soon for both of us
  • I'm about 10 weeks PP and even though I don't have numbness anymore my fingers are still a little sore sometimes, especially if I try to crack them. It's been improving but slowly. Pregnancy carpal tunnel sucks.
  • My hands sometimes go numb at night but not nearly as often as when I was pregnant.
  • I have it too and didn't notice it when I was pregnant. I think it's partially from the way I hold him while breastfeeding.
  • My numbness finally went away but my wrist still locks up if I don't wear my brace at night. Super annoying. It lasted till about 5 months with my last :(

  • I had the numbness/tingling until about 10 weeks postpartum. I even went to see a neurologist about it. Very annoying, but the good news is that now I only get it once in awhile. I hope it resolves for everybody.
  • Yes mine has finally just subsided and I'm almost 10 weeks postpartum.
  • I guess I'll give it a few more weeks ...
  • Mine keeps getting worse. It didn't start until after she was born. Pisses me off.

I think I'll have to have surgery eventually.

That bad? I have good days at bad days hope it doesn't lead to surgery yuck
