What should I do with this vintage fabric?

I bought a vintage Rainbow Brite sheet and I'm looking for some ideas.  I thought about having a custom diaper made (maybe only using the fabric on the wings and top part of the butt, since it's not PUL?), but I'm not sure who the best vendor or WAHM might be for such a job.  Recommendations?  Any other ideas for things to be made from the material... minky blanket, bib, etc?

It's a twin flat sheet.  The thing is as old as I am, but thankfully in much better condition

Oh you got a decent amount then you could do a few projects. My sister had a small quilt made with similar fabric when we were kids. She loved it to death.

The last time I sewed anything was a hole in my dad's shirt.  The sleeve ended up sewn together.  Probably should hire someone...

Ha ha, maybe a friend could do a pillow case dress for you. Those are adorable! I find quilting easy since it's flat. I'm not the best once things go 3D.

I might be able to scrounge up a crafty friend.  Or maybe an Etsy shop that does customs?  Thanks @Mandmeesh and @Nvywife for the ideas!

Get on Pinterest and look around too! I get a ton of ideas there. My husband pokes fun at me saying I get a crafting boner from that site.

I totally had those sheets when I was a kid! Loved them. I think the quilt is a good idea. I'd worry the print is too big for a diaper, but my memory my be a little off.

You can make a lot from a twin sheet. I would check out etsy. Many shops are willing to work with your fabric is you're willing to ship it to them. You can use the fabric for the whole diaper outer. It will just have a hidden PUL layer though some say that can lead to leaks around the legs.

You could also do a dress (peasant or pillowcase would be cute), skirt, quilt, Bumbo cover (if you have one of those seats), fabric hair bows, Boppy cover, slipper shoes, and so much more

I quilt, so I'd just hoard it until I figured out what t do with it! My first thoughts would definitely be a dress, then use the rest for something like a quilt that will be enjoyed for a little longer. And if you end up with extra, I'd love to buy some...

I've seen those pillow case loungers for kids in Pinterest a lot. I think those are quick sew projects made from a large piece of fabric but a twin sheet would be big enough. That's something that would be easy, inexpensive and enjoyed for a long time.

Oh yeah the pillow case thing is a great idea. We made those for our nieces and nephew two years ago for Christmas and they LOVED them. Ours were way cuter than that link though. I might have a picture somewhere...

The kids we made them for were 8 (boy and girl) and 4 (girl). They all loved them. So, I think they would both like it. We made matching drawstring bags to store them in too.

We had those sheets growing up.  My mom actually still has them.  Also Care Bears and Raggedy Ann and Andy.

The sheet came in today. Learned DH does not know who Rainbow Brite is. Sigh. He's practically still in diapers himself.

Thanks! Velcro would better I think. I suggested it, but J (who does the sewing) wanted to do buttons. I just did the design and cut and pinned the fabric for her.
