CD folks--question

I love our CD--I use the flip system but my question is about getting rid of the poop. Now that DS2 is eating more solids his poops has changed and I wondering what your system is for treating this? I bought these liners that are super thin that catch most of the poop but I don't think DS2 likes the way they feel b/c they stick to his butt and we sort of have to peel them away. I know I could soak the poopy diapers when I am home but what do I do with the daycare ones??

TIA!

Your DC does CD?? That's so awesome!! I don't have much to add because my MiL watches LO and refuses to CD.  I tried the liners and thought they were a PIA. Now that LO's poop is more solid I just put it in the toilet. Usually there's only a little residual poo left in the dipe.

Since we CD part time I wash ours every 3-4 days and do a deep soak setting in the washer first.

  • When we CD'd at daycare, I just told them to send home the poopy ones in the wet bag as-is, and I plopped them when I got home. We never soak - just get off as much as possible into the toilet and then wash.

  • @squirm I think we noticed the biggest change when he started the second meal of puree's a day. Which would of been about 6 weeks after we started with just 1 meal. It remained pretty BM normal for quite a while.

  • @madisonpenny I got the liners from Amazon-they are called Gro-Via bioliners. They are super thin but kind of a pain

    Thanks for the input!

  • When LO1 was still in diapers at DC, they just sent all the diapers home and I dealt with the poop. My sister watches LO2, and she also just sends it all home and I deal.

A few minutes soak in the toilet, then I swish/flush, wring it out and wash as usual. Some people use those sprayers, but I've found dunk/swish works fine. Especially if I let it soak a few minutes the poop tends to come right off.

I should mention poop doesn't bother me in the slightest. Vomit I can barely stand even hearing about, but poop doesn't bother me.

Our poop diapers are generally solid now, so it just keeps it's shape and is easy to wipe off into the tolet. A flat will just get a quick rinse in the laundry sink (cough guest bathroom cough) and put in the bucket. Pockets and AIO are a pain in the arse to clean in my opinion so I just let the washing machine do everything for me. I don't use the liners, so no input there.

At least in MT, DC has to allow cloth diapering if the place is registered and a credited (read no in home care).
