Micro Preemies

Post-Op Update

Because I know you all care about the state of my ute...haha. Yesterday I finally had my post-op ultrasound after my septum removal in September and was told that everything looks good! I was pretty emotional about it. It's like, the thing that caused Patricia's death and Anna's micro-preemieness is no longer there, and that's great! But I still don't feel...safe. We want siblings for Anna and will probably start trying in the new year. I want to hope, but don't want to get my hopes up.

Anyone else looking to TTC in 2015?

Re: Post-Op Update

  • That is great news that your surgery was successful! And, I completely understand wanting to feel safe. We had several miscarriages before DS2 was born at 24 weeks. Good luck TTC in 2015! We are due with DS3 February 3, 2015 but they are taking him at 36 weeks gestation (January 7th)! I am sure once you start TTC and when you get a BFP, you will be monitored very closely. We have appointments all the time with either our OB or our Perinatologist which sets my mind a little at ease.

Congrats again on a successful surgery!

  • Thanks ladies!

@dunnmommy congrats! That is right around the corner! How are the p17 shots going?

@MaiTaiBeth take the time you need! I felt really rushed because my brother and I are 15 months apart and I loved it, but I am realizing that 3 years apart is not the end of the world! I'll be thankful for every healthy baby.

@Usm123 no problem! I also have a T scar from Anna's csection. The only labor experience I will have is with Patricia, which makes me sad but also makes my time with her that much more special. The trouble is that while it's pretty obvious the septum was the cause of my trouble, I may also have incompetent cervix so I'll be consulting a MFM to discuss a cerclage. Wish I could just be normal!

  • Im glad you had your septum removed and that it was successful!  Do see an MFM to talk about a cerclage or serial cervical ultrasounds.... IC is not always associated with septums, but it can be.

I had my septum removed in 2010 and got pregnant in 2011.  I had classic IC which led to Virginia's early birth.  Due to alot of circumstances I ended up having a transabdominal cerclage placed in 2013.  Another septoplasty, a slew of complications and 2 IVFs later I am finally pregnant again.  It sucks that this stuff cant be easy :(

Im so glad you are on a path to hope and a healthy pregnancy :)
