Re: Walking

  • Nope. She is starting to cruise on the couch to open the blinds but that rarely happens. And she is starting to stand and let go. She falls soon after. There is no trying to walk if we hold her up to try. It will be several more months before she will do it for reals.

  • We still have the drunk baby walk sometimes...but she's mostly steady on her feet. No running yet.

  • Walking for about 3 months. Now running, walking backwards and walking in circles.
Just experienced a huge language explosion over the past month. I think we are up to 60-70 words.

This is P too.  He tries to run and falls flat on his face.
  • Walks great, some running, but still can't even climb up on the couch. I am very grateful he's not a climber.

  • Gavin walked early (10 months), but he's a klutz...he runs and about 15 steps in, face plants...he got his mommy's grace, clearly, lol!
  • Walking for almost two months. Running, climbing, walking backwards.
He wants to walk down the stairs but I won't let him.
  • Walking, running, climbing...When she climbs the couch she usually has to grab onto me to get up. If I don't let her grab me to climb up its a meltdown. She must climb. She also will walk backwards to sit on her little chair. Walk backwards and sit..without looking..and sometimes her chair is not exactly where she thought it was. She's crazy haha

  • He walked at 9 months (which was awful) and now operates at run, sprint and head first dive. He is pretty slow to talk but words are starting to pop out and surprise me.

I'm still waiting for Finn to stand unsupported :-S

Zoe started the walking and standing unsupported at the same time. I thought standing unsupported would come first.

  • He's been walking for almost 3 months now and is learning how to run. As far as words, he really only says "da" which he uses both for DH and the dog, so I'm not sure if that even counts.

  • @valstulas‌ I had missed that Finn was starting PT--hopefully his next session will go smoother once he's not fussy from shots. PT has been so helpful for us--for awhile I was discouraged at how slow his progress seemed, but then it was like something clicked, muscle memory kicked in, and he started cruising and crawling like a champ. He also probably has 10-15 words so I feel like he has been focused on verbal development and now can focus on gross motor! Our PT told me about these "walking wings" this week and I'm thinking of ordering it: https://www.amazon.com/Upspring-Baby-Walking-Wings-Learning/dp/B000E9TDRS good luck to you guys! I'm sure he'll be moving in no time :)

@valstulas‌ >:D< I may have missed your update a while back but how did Finn's evaluation go with PT? (I know this was quite some time ago)
Thanks for asking! He was approved for 10 PT sessions not solely for a gross motor delay, but more for a disparity between fine motor skills (very advanced) and gross motor skills (very delayed). We've had 1 session. The second was this week but he was too fussy from shots so they left and rescheduled. Honestly, if I had known the wheels would turn so slowly, I would have sought intervention sooner. I feel encouraged that he has finally starting cruising on furniture, but I have anxiety. His evaluators say he's quite bright, so that's encouraging to hear. But as you know, there's always that element of doubt. :-q Just walk, baby!!!!
we are in very similar boats. :/

  • @DenverBride2005‌ thanks for the tip! I ordered them and they've arrived! I'll be trying them soon.

@purplepeanut6‌ I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your LO comes around soon.
