LO fell asleep at 4:45!

My daughter just fell asleep at 4:45... She's never napped this late in the day and usually goes to sleep around 7 or 8 pm. Should I let her sleep or wake her after a bit? She usually takes 2 naps during the day between 1 or 2 hours each. She did take two naps but each only 30mins.

Re: LO fell asleep at 4:45!

  • Does she normally STTN? If not, I'd let her sleep if she's going to wake up anyway. If she normally STTN - that's tricky because she might not go back to sleep after this little 3hr nap. If it were me, i'd prob just let her sleep and deal with whatever time she wakes and then try to get her back on schedule.. possibly getting her up at the same time in the AM that she usually wakes.

  • Let her sleep. DD sometimes falls asleep when we get home from daycare around 5. I learned my lesson when I woke her and she had a two hour meltdown.

  • DD sometimes falls asleep on the way home from DC (around 5).  If she's still asleep when we get home, I let her sleep until around 7.  We do our bedtime routine at 7:30 and don't want her napping right up to it.  We also try to avoid naps longer than 2 hours before bed.
  • @jennbunny85 so what happened, I am curious if she slept through the night?
  • Yeah, LO sometimes crashes and snoozes after daycare, and I let him sleep for a bit.  He takes 3-4 naps at daycare (some of them just little cat naps) and I figure he needs the sleep to help him grow.  I'd try to wake him if it's longer than 2 hours, though. I kind of like when he snoozes after daycare--means Mommy and Daddy can have dinner without trying to keep a baby entertained at the same time!
