TTC After a Loss

What music are you listening to?

I'm obsessed with music (can't sing or pay an instrument, but I sure like listening to it) and was wondering what songs you guys have been listening to lately to cope with your MC or to just take your mind off it.

I've been listening a lot to (in no particular order):
"Lights Out, Words Gone" by Bombay Bicycle Club
"Yellow Flicker Beat" by Lorde
"1957" by Milo Greene
"Love in High Places" by Kimbra
"Carry On" by fun.
"Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" by Coldplay
"Coming of Age" by Foster the People

I'm also curious to see if anyone else likes the same music as me ;)

"Everybody here has got a story to tell. Everybody's been through their own hell. There's nothing too special about getting hurt, but getting over it that takes the work. Because one way or another, we all need each other. Nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover because everything comes out the way it should in the end." -Glen Phillips, "Duck and Cover"

Re: What music are you listening to?

  • Heh, uh, I think the only other person on here who listens to the same type of music as I do is menrandes. Almost everything that I listen to is power metal, played extremely loudly, with some symphonic goth metal thrown in for good measure and to give my eardrums a break.

  • I have been listening to a lot of Beatles lately (their later stuff like Long, Long, Long; Carry That Weight; Helter Skelter). Also Duran Duran and REM.

I am listening to some pretty a awesome indie folk music, when I have the chance (which isn't often). On the weekend, we listened to 90s Bjork. @rslh10‌ - does that make you love my music tastes less?
I've been listening to a 90's alternative station on pandora. They've been playing the goo goo dolls, bush, the offspring, and Oasis....I can't judge you for Bjork! ;)

    @rslh10 Nice choices!

I was into Bjork for awhile, too. The video for "Army of Me" was so cool. Reminds me that the soundtrack for the move "Sucker Punch" was amazing.

Currently I am really into rock that is a little bit more aggressive and/or with a powerful female lead. Halestorm, In This Moment, Bring Me the Horizon, and Five Finger Death Punch allow me to rage it out. I can't wait for the new In This Moment album that is going to be released on Tuesday.

    Edit: missed 'Me'

Hey you're not the only metal head here! Though I'm more death metal minded.
I've been really into Eths, Suicide Silence, and The Faceless lately.

OH! I totally forgot to add Bring Me The Horizon even though I'm in love with their Sempiternal album. I used to jam to Five Finger Death Punch pretty well too :)

  • I'm so boring with music, I just surf the radio until I hear something I like. The only thing I don't listen to is country.

    I love, love, 80's and 90's.

I also like bands like Mumford and Sons.
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.
