This is the weekly check-in for TTCALers who are also dealing with infertility. If you'd like to join us please feel free to intro with your diagnosis and history. We've had a few extra challenges thrown at us, ladies. Come here for snuggles from people who get what you're dealing with. 

Fill us in, along with any other updates or vents you need to get out, TTCAL or NonTTCAL related.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know.  If you do not PM me I will not mention you in the check-in.  If we haven’t heard from you in a few weeks please come back in with an update; or are new and want to join please post a brief intro with your DX and current/future treatment plans and then you'll be added to next week’s check in!

I am still sick but getting better. This should be the last day of the cycle though no signs of af yet. I have a new protocol for next cycle. They want me to do a medicated iui cycle, I am not sure it will be worth the expense. It will also fall on or around Thanksgiving...

I have a slight vit D deficiency. I take 3400ius/day. Hopefully they can get you a good plan moving forward. ((Hugs)) for the bfns. I hate that.

Hello, ladies. I hope everyone is doing well. 

AFM: We are taking these two cycles off treatment. I just needed a break and some time. I talked to my nurse about the severe cramps I had and she says my endo may be coming back. Cue the panic. I dunno what that will mean for us treatment wise, but I do know they do not want to do surgery if they can help it. I have had to many laps (IMO) and they do not want to damage Lefty. Bleh. I feel like we are stuck between a rock and hard place. 

On another note, I have an intestinal virus. It is not fun. I have barely been able to eat the last two days and I am completely wiped out. Who knew that it would give me a fever and make so tired I can barely keep my eyes open? Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

it has been a rollercoaster of a week.  US on sunday went poorly...he was only seeing 2 good follies and told me he didn't expect to see anymore...however my levels were good.  He said to be hopeful for the two.  I was just shocked that i responded so poorly to the medicine given my prior pregnancy history.

then yesterday i go in and there are four.  the two from sunday are looking the best but there are 2 others trailing on...they told me I would likely trigger today.

I go in today and the two big ones didn't grow much at all today but one of the smaller ones took off.  now I am set to trigger tomorrow (if my us goes ok in the morning).  I'm thrilled that the third one is doing really well but I don't like that the 2 nice ones didn't grow much.  my RE said that it was just a wait and see type of thing.  ugh.  so ready to be past this!!!

This is IVF #1 for us because i got slammed with low amh in august.  we were supposed to be doing pgd but with so few follies we prob. won't.

I'm doing ok. Just waiting to meet with a new RE next week. In the meantime there isn't much I can do so I'm trying to just relax and not think about it. Easier said than done!

AFM I have an appt tomorrow to check my cyst and also check ovulation. I'm cd14 and still getting neg OPKs which is unusual for me. I'm supposed to start a med after O but the cyst really determines my next move. I'm really frustrated. And to top it off mh decided to get mad at me last night. He asked when the cyst would go away, I told him I don't know. Could be now, could be weeks. So he got mad at me for not "answering" him.
Am I the only one with a SO that does not understand I have no answers?

AFM: I'm about 9dpo. Test was pretty much negative today being that trigger is out of mysystem for the most part. I'm not feeling too hopeful this cycle

@Km380 I think your DH chose the wrong moment to be frustrated. He probably doesn't have a community like our to vent. FX that cyst goes/has gone away.

AFM:  I feel a bit conflicted about the surgery.  I don't want to sound jaded and negative but I'm so over all of the false hopes that arise with IF.  Oh, IUIs will definitely work, no they didn't!  Oh IVF is your ticket, nope something else is wrong.  So now on to a surgery...I hope this is what is wrong and I'm not subjecting my body to this for no reason  Surgery is scheduled for 12/12.

So no AF for me. I was all pumped up because I thought I actually O'd on my own but am now "16DPO" and no AF in sight. Which would normally be exciting except for the zero chance we're pg as we were TTA and using condoms.

Sooo I definitely didn't O whenever FF thought I did and looking at my chart, it looks pretty unlikely if I didn't O on that date that I O'd at all. Hoping my new RE will just let me take progesterone to bring on a cycle so we can move on. I pretty much always need progesterone to bring on AF so waiting the 60 days seems sort of pointless.

Appt with the new RE is a week from tomorrow.

that is so encouraging to me!!!  I just got my e2 back and it went from 677 to 1123 overnight...I am waiting from my message from the RE but that has to be a good sign (I hope).

it always seems like whatever could go wrong does with if...esp. when you throw losses in there.  big ((hugs)) as you wait this all out.  I would be so frustrated if I was in your shoes too.

Hey,
   FF confirmed O so we had good timing  this month.   As I said, I'm not too hopeful since this is an unmedicated, non-treatment cycle but you never know.  I also got my karyotype testing back and everything was normal so that makes me feel so much better.  I'm totally ready for my Dec. 12 appointment so we can get back to treatment and get this show on the road!

@rubysi I hope your new protcol works for you.  Will you be doing Clomid or injections or both?

@megrae12 I hope you feel better soon!   We are also taking 2 months off treatment and sometimes I think it's great while others I think it sucks.   How many Laps have you had?   My doctor really wants me to have one because I show a lot of symptoms of endo but I'm not sure it's worth it if we're just going to do IVF again.

@KM380 I hope your cyst is shrinking.  You are not the only one.  My favorite is when DH asks when my monitoring appointment are for the week so he can plan his week...if I knew I'd tell you but I won't know until the US.  We've been through this 5 cycles now, you think he'd have a clue.

@frenchteachermama I'm so sorry you are going through this.  What type of surgery are you going through?  I feel like I am where you are.  Failed IUI's and IVF now they want to do a lap but I don't want to do it.  I'm tired of surgeries and screwing with my body.

Ugh YH does the same? Mh also asks when do I start injects and when is ER. I don't know - just like I didn't know anything for the IUIs. I'm sorry yours does this too but thanks for sharing, makes me feel a little more normal you know

AFM - Finally got in for that U/S, and guess what... My non-stop bleeding for the past 6 weeks is NOT actually normal. I have quite a bit of retained tissue that is going to need treatment. They want to schedule me for a D&C late next week, but I've asked to at least try with Cytotec. That's what fun I'll be up to this weekend. Hoping it does the trick though, and I can avoid the D&C. 

QOTW/AW - Big changes coming to my world, and today, I received a lot of love and support for that decision, and our counter offer on selling our house was accepted.

@Km380 I hope you appointment goes well today and that the cyst is gone!! I hate that you and YH were squabbly. I know that is frustrating from both sides. I can say that it may be he is feeling helpless b/c most men are fixers. He can't "fix" this at all and it's frustrating. H and I talk about it a lot and he hates that he can't fix this for me. So it boils over to frustration and just crap. Does that make sense? I know it's not a lot of help, but maybe y'all can sit down and talk about why he got upset? I bet you will see that it's just frustration about the situation. ((Hugs)) sweetie.

@Rachaeleigh I am keeping my FX for you, love!! I know how the not hopeful cycle goes. I will be hopeful for you, it's easy for me to do. When will you test or do you go in for betas?

@Frenchteachermama ((Hugs)) I am so sorry you are feeling so conflicted. I get that. I do. IF is suck a MF and it's not fair. We are given so much extra to deal with and it's hard to process. Take some time and process this, ok? Don't keep pushing aside and "deal with it later". You know it will only get worse. Write it out if you need to, or yell it out, or punch it out, whatever. You need to get that release. Ok? So much love for you and I am here if you need anything!! Even venting!!

@nikiswimr Is this your first cycle post loss? I looked at your chart, and you are right, I would be surprised of you O'd. I am gonna bet your new RE will want to bring on AF so they can get started with treatment. Are you going to have to a whole new set of tests again? Do you know what your plan will be moving forward?

@king26 Yay for good timing! I hope this is your cycle. I have had two laps, one in 2012 to remove a dermoid tumor out of my right ovary and that is when they found the endo. They blasted it out. Then I had another in 2013 (less than a year later) to removed my right tube b/c of ectopic. I will say that overall they are not a terrible way to have surgery. It really depends on what you are getting done. Feel free to PM me if you want the good, the bad, and the straight ugly. ((Hugs))

AFM I have an appt tomorrow to check my cyst and also check ovulation. I'm cd14 and still getting neg OPKs which is unusual for me. I'm supposed to start a med after O but the cyst really determines my next move. I'm really frustrated. And to top it off mh decided to get mad at me last night. He asked when the cyst would go away, I told him I don't know. Could be now, could be weeks. So he got mad at me for not "answering" him.
Am I the only one with a SO that does not understand I have no answers?

@Km380 I hope you appointment goes well today and that the cyst is gone!! I hate that you and YH were squabbly. I know that is frustrating from both sides. I can say that it may be he is feeling helpless b/c most men are fixers. He can't "fix" this at all and it's frustrating. H and I talk about it a lot and he hates that he can't fix this for me. So it boils over to frustration and just crap. Does that make sense? I know it's not a lot of help, but maybe y'all can sit down and talk about why he got upset? I bet you will see that it's just frustration about the situation. ((Hugs)) sweetie. 


Thanks sweetie. I'm sure most of it is just frustration and that is pretty much the talk we will have.
In other news my cyst is gone! How rarely do we leave the RE with good news. It also looks like I should O soon, it's just late this month.

@futuremrswright2012 - we are going ahead with an egg retrieval...it is set for sunday...triggering tonight.  eeeek.

so sorry about the retained tissue..I hope the cytotec does the trick and you can avoid surgery.  ((hugs))

@king26 my doctor thinks that I might have a condition where your c-section scar doesn't heal on the inside which allows fluid/blood to constantly be flowing into my uterus and making it a toxic environment.  @FutureMrsWright2012 I'm not sure if this is something that I would need to have done if we weren't TTC.  It does cause me to spot almost constantly but I'm not sure if it's dangerous, except to embryos...

@megrae12 the best thing I did for myself over the past year was to seek out the help of a therapist who specializes in women's infertility and grief.  She actually rotated with my RE practice when she was in school so she has wonderful insight into the inner workings of the office.  That and wine, lots and lots of wine.

@megrae12‌ I'm really hoping all the testing doesn't need to be repeated. I had all my old records sent to my new REs office so that he can review them prior to my appointment. He did say he was going to potentially repeat some bloodwork and do a transvaginal ultrasound but hopefully not another HSG. The plan with my last RE was to do Clomid + trigger + IUI so I'm guessing plan will be similar unless something new turns up? I hope you're right and we just do progesterone to start a new cycle. Looking definitely anovulatory at this point. I know that can be normal post loss.
