Dry hacking cough?

So this is extremely weird.

I had a cold last weekend, then this cough came about Sunday. My cold symptoms are subsidizing, but this cough is the devil!

I have moderate-severe asthma, so ANY other time I would have a cough like this I would be well into bronchitis. Usually would be having a difficult time breathing with movement and at rest... Yet I am having none of that. It seems the cough is the worst at night. Nonstop coughing that wakes me up out of my sleep, and then just stops out of the blue until the next day/evening. I have some coughing throughout the day, but it's not relentless. Calling my OB today as tea with honey,
Warmest water I can stand, soup, and robitussin are not helping. Anybody else ever had this issue?

@ajzmommy‌ no dry heaving. I have allergies as well. It's just weird because normally if I am coughing like this I am on every four hour breathing treatments for asthma. And it's okay... I think my experience in the hospital keeps me from being afraid of things lol. No kidding.. I've seen and heard a lot of things. Maybe a little worry Thanks for your input!
