Cold weather outer wear

So my problem from last year, with DD taking off mittens/boots/socks, isn't much better this year. I'd like to continue going for walks if possible even on colder days, but only if I can adequately keep her warm. It's pretty easy to keep DS warm since he's too little to be taking off his clothes or blankets, but I just don't see DD keeping mittens on. She inherited having constantly cold hands from me, so she needs to somehow have her hands covered if we're going to be outside for longer than a couple minutes. Anyone have any ideas or strategies to keep your LO's hands covered? Last year I got a full body suit to put her in with fold-over hand and feet pockets, but I don't know if I can find one big enough for her now.

I sewed E's mittens to a long sleeve shirt. that way, he can't pull them off. Yeah, getting him ready is a bit more a position, but his hands stay warm.

Have you tried mittens yet this year? The only reason I ask is DD wanted nothing to do with them last year. Pulling them off all the time. I put them in her yesterday and she left them on the entire time we were outside. I actually had to take them off when we got inside. Socks she is a little more receptive to them especially if it's cold. But she still will take them off eventually.

I bought E mittens that have Velcro and go all the way to his elbow. They un Velcro down to his hand so they are easy to get on and under his jacket he can't get them off.

Carter's has great mitts for 2-4 year olds that go up to their elbows under the jacket. I found because they're so bulky, DS can't even functionally hold anything with just one hand, let alone take his mitts off.
