In L&D :( - Update 2 HOME!!

I had an appointment today with my OB to check my cervical length this afternoon. After 5 weeks of holding steady, it's shortened to 1.4cm, so I was immediately admitted to L&D for monitoring. 

They will be checking for contractions for 24 hours. After that, they will decide how to proceed and if any interventions are necessary. Right now, I'm waiting for an anesthesiologist to administer an IV after 3 failed attempts by 2 nurses. My body hates me today. 

Any thoughts you can send our way would mean the world. Please stay put, Theodore!


*Update* - Thank you so much for all the love, ladies!  We had a pretty boring night, thankfully.  Around 6pm this evening, they will be running some tests to determine my risk of imminent delivery.  Since I had a transvaginal u/s yesterday, they have to wait until all the gel, etc., is gone for accurate results.  I did have a digital cervix check done last night, and it is still closed, thank goodness!

For those who asked about a cerclage, one of the nurses here mentioned it, but haven't heard anything definite from the doctor.

And again, thank you so much for the outpouring of support.  All 3 of us appreciate it!  <3

*Update 2* - They've sent me home!  @MrsLaurenandDan, you were right!  They ran a fetal fibronectin test that came back negative!  That, coupled with no other symptoms other than my shortened cervix, which was measured again and is at 1.6cm, gave them enough reassurance to send me home with progesterone suppositories.  Oh, and put me on bed rest, of course.

I have an appointment on Monday with another doctor in my clinic, and another one scheduled with my OB the day before Thanksgiving.  Hopefully, things are boring through the holidays and Theodore continues to bake.  I've told him that it's omgholyballsCOLD out here, so he should stay where he's nice and warm. 

I am so, so thankful for all the support from everyone.  M15 is the bestest!  <3
