Valium for ET?

My ET is tomorrow, my RE didn't give me anything to take but a friend of mine who did IVF a few years ago took a Valium before her ET to help relax her Uterus (I think that's why). I have one Valium that was given to me prior to my HSG that I didn't take. Is it safe to take before my transfer tomorrow? I don't want to do anything that can effect my chances but I'm nervous, even though I know it's not a terrible procedure , the one IUI I had hurt, yet I took a Xanax before my HSG, which they told me would hurt and it was more comfortable than my iUI, so if a Valium makes the procedure go smoother I'm all for it. Anybody take Valium or Xanax for their ET?

    I took Valium for my first two transfers. One wasn't successful the second one was but I m/c. Valium is a mild smooth muscle relaxant..... And since the med is out of your system by implantation time, it should be safe.

    My RE prescribed me one 10mg tablet of Valium to take one hour prior to transfer. So it must be safe!

    I would take it. I have a terrible time with anything touching my cervix and after a very painful mock embryo transfer, my RE prescribed me 5 mg of Valium for ETs. I've had three transfers with it and did have a BFP with one. From what I've read, any cramping during ET is very bad and the Valium relaxes both you and your body (cervix, uterus, etc.) so there should be less cramping and it should be a more pleasant experience. You are going to be in enough discomfort due to your full bladder, and if you are worried about it being uncomfortable/painful, that's reason enough to have a Valium. I wish I'd had one before my HSG!!!

    My RE gives me 15mg of valium 45 minutes prior to transfer, which is a hefty dose.
    Me 27 DH 29 Married since 2007, together since 2001
    Off BC since Febuary 2006 3 Clomid Cycles in 2008- symptomatic, US just showed a tilted uterus, otherwise normal, HSG normal.  DH has an ejaculatory duct obstruction and a congenital absence of the vas deferens.  This is common with cystic fibrosis carriers, but he doesn't have cystic fibrosis. IVF #1 with TESE/ICSI (Antagonist protocol) Aug 2014=BFN (poor embryo quality)   IVF #2 ICSI long lupron protocol November 2014

    My RE prescribes Xanax for ER and ET

    TTC #1 January 2009
    January 2010 SA results: Count 16 million, Motility 40%, Morphology 2%
    January 2010- Surprise BFP! DS born 10/1/2010 :)
    January 2013 TTC #2
    September 2013 Repeat SA: Count= 1.7 million, Motility= 24%, Morphology= 2%
    November 6th 1st Appointment with RE: diagnosed with severe MFI
    Testing to try to determine a cause & possible treatment for MFI
    CD 3 blood work for me. RE does not want to repeat my HSG/lap at this point,
    but may want to before moving forward with any fertility treatments.
    After seeing the uro, DH is currently taking lots of supplements and clomid to try to boost his count. We will have a repeat SA in February to see if it works.
    Follow up SA numbers are: Count= 4 million, Motility= 40%, Morphology= 1%
    Uro wants us to have another follow up SA 5/9 to see if we see further improvement than we are back to the RE to make a game plan.

    SA 5/9/2014 Count: 12 Million, Motility: 60%, and Morphology 2%. We will be doing iui #1 in late June

    IUI #1 6/28 clomid + ovidrel, post wash count 3 million total sperm= BFN

    IUI # 2 7/21 clomid+ ovidrel. post wash count 900,000 total sperm= BFN

    IVF planned for early November- cancelled due to cyst

    December IVF #1- 22 eggs, 20 mature,16 fertilized

    12/9 Transferred 1 4AA Blast, 6 frosties

    My clinic also gives it about 30 minutes prior to transfer they say it relaxes you and your uterus , my clinic has very good STATs. And the transfer that I had a good lining with was successful. I would take it.

    My TTC Story - warning child mentioned

    IVF #1 BFN no remaining eggs for FET
    IVF #2 no eggs to transfer
    Went to a new Clinic
    IVF #3 poor lining had to freeze our three embryos
    FET #1 transferred two 1 didn't thaw well - BFN no remaining egg
    IVF #4 BFN poor lining (we were able to freeze 4 eggs)
    FET #2 BFN poor lining still
    FET #3 BFP unmedicated cycle / beautiful lining and last 2 embies BFP finally - 2010
    IVF #5 32 egg retrieved, 30 mature/ icsi was done
    Day 1 - 25 fertilized
    Day 3 - 25 have Divided
    Day 5 - froze 7 AA quality blasts and transferred 2 AA quality blasts
    Day 6 froze an additional 11 blasts - 7 great quality, 4 fair quality.
    Beta 1 11/16 - 9
    Beta 2 11/18 - 45.5
    Beta 3 11/20 - 174.5, Beta 4 11/25 - 1,347.7
