Hello Ladies!!  I am officially in the home stretch! I am 39 weeks today.  I have an OB appointment and they are going to strip my membranes, I am very excited about it jump starting labor.  Ms. Ellie is not moving as much as she used to and it is driving me crazy, but they say it is because she is moved into position. I am so ready to meet my daughter!

Congrats to all of the grads and good luck to those waiting for LO to arrive. 

QOTW: The thing that took me by surprise the most is how so many people think that I am not capable of doing things (cooking, cleaning, working, etc) while being late in pregnancy... lately I have wanted to scream at everyone "I AM STILL CAPABLE!!"

@Ashris13Home Stretch- good for you!! This time next week you should have a sweet little girl. So exciting! Yard Sale went well- we sold about 60% and donated the rest. Either way my house is cleaned out and my heart is smiling. Appt also went well- measuring right on track.

I am 32w2d. I have an appt tomorrow. Updates- I go to a medical group with 4 doctors. Ive met them all and found 1 I liked. Just got word he is retiring at the end of the month! I know its a gabmle who delivers but... I am bummed. I really liked him. Im feeling ok. He is up in my lungs and its hard to breath but I know this wont last too much longer.

Pregnancy suprise- I knew Id be tired and swollen but I had no idea just how tired and swollen. I am usually a mover and a shaker- running errands after working, getting jazz done, making list, planning, etc. And now I want to sit or lay more. Haha.

@Ashris13‌ - feeling a million times better - thanks! no idea what it was but rested for a few days - mostly laying down on my side and about 3 days later, it was like what pain.

Any updates to share? Went to the doc yesterday and shes measuring 3lbs 4oz! Unfortunately we won't see her again until week 36 but the days seem to be running now! Also, finally cleared out the rooms of the junk (okay more like 75% empty, but still) and now we gotta call a guy to fix up our floor! FX he gives us a good price! I'm really hoping and praying the rooms are ready before our shower! It might take a miracle tho since our shower is on 11/22 ...
How are you feeling? I'm feeling much better (see above)

QOTW: besides making it this far, what surprised me most was the sensation of this lo kicking me. I know it was bound to happen (if I got that far) but it was definitely amazing! Also, how early dh could feel it! Being plus size, I've read that it could take longer for anyone to feel it on the outside (like 24-25 weeks). He felt her move around 20 weeks, I believe. Like I started feeling her for 1 or 2 weeks and then he was able to feel her ... pretty cool!

Hello ladies,

I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow! 

We had a very busy week!  This past weekend, we had our last two baby showers/breastfeeding class/and I took an exam after my last baby shower.  I survived!  We also picked up our new baby car last night (Sabaru Outback)!  We have our 3D US retake tomorrow! 

The showers were great, we got most big things off of our registry and we are officially team pink!  

We have only a few things left to buy, sheets for the bed, changing pad, monitor, high chair are on my list of essential things we didn't get.  I am going to wait a little while before completing registry because I know a few people still want to purchase things off the registry.  But we got a swing, bathtub, stroller/carseat, mattress, bottles, breastfeeding supplies, pack n' play, breastmilk warmer, toys, carrying wrap, clothes, books, closet organizer, diapers, and on and on.  We just bought our own nursery furniture and nothing else (so everything you see in the room that isn't furniture was a gift), now we need to organize the room, and figure out what else we need!  So grateful for everything!!!!!!

QOTW:  I have loved being pregnant, but now I'm tired and achy, things are getting harder!  I guess I didn't expect this feeling of can't wait to get this baby out towards the end :P

Thanks @ashris13 - good luck with the stripping of your membranes!  I'm plan to have that done next Wednesday at 39+1 if I'm dilated.  As of Monday (37+6), cervix was fully closed and very soft and about 50% effaced.  She said she couldn't strip my membranes if I'm not dilated.  We will see! 

 

How far along are you? 38+1 today!

Upcoming appointments? Next appointment is in a week at 39+1.  I'm hoping to see some change, so we will see.

Any updates to share? No updates - just trudging along.....

How are you feeling? I'm feeling OK, My dog isn't sleeping well (go figure) and I think he is prepping us for what it's going to be like when she's here.  Maybe he's sensing something (since he usually is a sound sleeper on the floor next to us!). 

QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? I was not expecting to hate sleeping on my sides.  It's like every few hours, my hip flexor will start hurting or my arms will fall asleep and I'll have to wake them up and flip to the other side.  I cannot wait to be able to sleep on my back and stomach again

Upcoming appointments? Just had a monitoring appointment today. Fluid and heartbeat look good, but he's STILL breech

Any updates to share? After last weeks low fluid fiasco, things have calmed down. But, as he increasingly gets comfortable in this breech position, I'm looking at a schedule c-section instead of the unmedicated hypno water birth I was planning.

How are you feeling? I'm pretty tired and I'm in PT twice a week for hip pain.

QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? I'm shocked at how exhausting it is. I mean I knew it would be tiring, but I have no energy even on days when I don't do anything.

Hi ladies, I'm new!! So excited to be in third tri We are having a girl and due 1/30/15.

I'm 28w5d today. We have a growth ultrasound today to check on her size and position (SO excited to see her again!!!), then my regular OB appointment next Friday. Everything has been going well and I'm feeling great. I have had some Braxton Hicks that were pretty intense but they always go away. I'm hoping things continue to go smoothly. I make sure to force lots of water down because dehydration sent me into labor last time!

QOTW: This is our second, but I was very surprised how sick I got in first tri this time. It was awful being on an IV at home. I am very thankful it didn't last longer than it did.

Any updates to share? My home town baby shower is this Sunday!!! Last weekend my sisters and I helped my mom finish the favors. I received the last but of decoration for the nursery from etsy so we will have everything completed Sunday

 

How are you feeling? Late last week I had a scare that put me in L&D for the afternoon. I had started to feel really crampy and uncomfortable and as the days progressed it got worse and worse. Last Thursday I felt so shitty I went home early from work. I had been really busy for a few days before and I thought I just needed to relax at home, drink a ton of water, and get a good night’s sleep. Friday morning I went into work and the pain became so uncomfortable I couldn’t concentrate.  The pain would almost pulsate every few minutes. Finally I caved and called my OB hoping they would be able to get me an appointment at the office, but they told me to head straight to L&D in case I was experiencing pre-term labor symptoms. Thank god the baby is fine and staying put for a few more weeks, but I have a bacterial infection that I’ve unknowingly had for a while. When the OB checked my cervix I almost jumped out of the bed it was so painful and she said everything bled to the touch (TMI). I’m on antibiotics and I feel much better.

 

QOTW: A con I wasn’t expecting how uncomfortable sleep would be, I didn’t expect my hips and rib cage to hurt so much! At night I feel like a pig on a spit constantly rotating myself. I’ll get in a position until the pain in my hip and ribcage will wake me up, turn the other side and repeat! A pro I wasn’t expecting is how strong the baby’s movement would be. I love the constant rolls and nudges! Last night I had my hand on my belly while LO was kicking and a could make out a little hand or foot :x

AH!  @ashris13 -- you are SO close!  Hoping the membrane stripping helps move you along!  The last baby shower was great!  We received gifts from more than 30 people which I was not expecting so I had a million thank you notes to write over the weekend!  We are definitely ready for this baby now!

Upcoming appointments? Weekly appointment on Tuesday went well.  Baby is head down and low and my cervix is softening.  No dilating yet.  OB said he predicts we will have a little Thanksgiving baby! Appointments are every Tuesday now. 

Any updates to share? Not really other than our appointment and shower update above. 

How are you feeling? My lower back is starting to REALLY hurt and the OB confirmed that baby's head is right on my bladder so that is fun.    I'm hanging in there. 

QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? I am SO with you @ashris13 on this one!  People thing I am disabled or something -- I am pregnant.  I can still do things for myself.  Everyone is shocked that I am still working -- Uh, I work a desk job.  Why wouldn't I be working?!  I guess most of all I have been amazed how everyone thinks it okay to get all up in your business or comment on your life when you are pregnant.  The comments now about my size or how I am waddling are SO RUDE.  I just wanna say "you would never say things like that to me if I wasn't pregnant, why are you saying them now?"

Wow - @ashris13, you may have a baby by next week! So excited for you No worries, my due date is 12/6, and we are team pink.

I'm 36+4 today, and this is starting to seriously feel REAL now. Not that it didn't before, but somehow it's really starting to sink in. The house is nowhere near ready, still completely in the middle of our bathroom remodel (should be done by end of month). I was stressing about it until I realized that at the end of the day, as long as she's healthy and happy, everything else doesn't really matter. 

I'm still dealing with the rash around my eyes that's being controlled by hydrocortisone. I tried to stop using it, and it came back and made me miserable, so I am doing what I need to do to get through these last few weeks. I'm assuming it's pregnancy related. To be honest, that is bothering more than this giant belly! 

I hope to post a pic of LO's nursery next week. Walls need to be painted, and the rug put in, but other than that, everything is done. I'm going to start washing her clothes, and finishing up the bag packing this week.

As far as pregnancy surprises go, I really did not truly understand the meaning of cankles until now. I'm not kidding you, they are more prominent than ever. DH and I laugh about them for now, but I won't be laughing if they don't go away after the birth...

30+1 with my team purple twins! This week hasn't been great. I had some awful braxton hicks last night, but they have gone away. I'm a bit miserable right now though and I'm trying not to complain too much about it, but I really am not feeling super awesome. I feel so, so heavy and my stomach feels like its just going to fall off when I stand up and walk around. My hips hurt, my feet hurt, and my butt hurts. I am trying to get myself to look at the positives though. I keep reminding myself that I've made it to 30 weeks with these babies and I will get more uncomfortable as time goes by, but this means that they are growing and will be here soon. And I can have a COLD ham, cheese, lettuce, and mayo sub from Subway soon. So, I've got that going for me. Next appointment is Nov. 19th

QOTW: There are a few things! 

1) If you have to pee, just go right away. Don't tell yourself you can hold it. One sneeze, cough, laugh, or even baby movement and you will have a puddle at your feet.

2) I am not disabled. For some reason people think I am because I am not only pregnant, but pregnant with twins. Just let me waddle, stop, breathe, and waddle some more. I've got this.

3) People actually touch my belly. What the hell! Don't touch my belly! I had sarcastic comments towards these strangers at first, but now I just want to bite their hand off! The first time it happened I put my hand on her belly and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was an inappropriate touching contest." She walked away with a disgusted look on her face. But since then, I just tell people to please stop touching me and that its rude. I just can't believe this happens so often...seriously, its at least once a week for me. If its family or close friends I don't mind it. If its a stranger/random old lady that b-lines for my belly out of nowhere, hellll noooo, no touchy!

Hey ladies so nice to join you! I mobile bumping from the hospital so please forgive formatting and errors. I'm 28 weeks and change with fraternal boy twins.

I've been in the hospital a week because baby a isn't putting on weight like his brother and his fluid was low. We had the steroid shots and the babies are being monitored closely and so far thankfully they are doing really great so we are hoping to bake them a few more weeks. Hospital bedrest stinks but whatever I have to do to get these little miracles here I will do!

QOTW: I think I am most surprised by the comments and questions people ask about twins.. I expected some of them but it really gets on your nerves. I also am shocked how many strangers have asked me if I will breastfeed... Um way too personal!

Any updates to share? Baby is weighing 5 pounds 14 oz.  Right on track.  Gestational diabetes management has helped control her size, thank goodness!  

How are you feeling? I'm officially done being pregnant.  Cramps, random contractions (holy hell, that's real pain!), charlie horses, I'm really ready for this lady to be here!

QOTW: My hypothesis about being pregnant is that I feel like when I'm out shopping or something, men are so kind, helpful and nice to me (it's like they feel sorry for you and remember how their wife felt).  It's the middle aged women that hit you from behind with carts and don't offer to help you!  (Real experience last week at Costco, woman was trying to jet past me on the way to get her receipt checked when leaving and hit me from behind with her cart, knocked me over, and just kept going and didn't apologize.  It was the guy working at the door check receipts who insisted she help me and apologize before he'd check her receipt off!)

31w2d with my baby boy!

No real baby-related updates - my parade of visits and visitors has finally come to an end (at least until Thanksgiving) which is a relief. It was a good visit up to the inlaws and then a good visit from my parents and then a visit from my friend Mike and then a visit from my friend Sarah with her baby (all back-to-back) but I am excited to catch up on laundry and sit on my yoga ball all day. Not to mention a few crafty projects to finalize Ryan's room!!!

My next appointment is next Thurs. Every 2 weeks now!

For those who also can't get comfortable sitting, may I just tell you how amazing a yoga ball is?! I feel like my lungs are compressed when sitting or laying in any position, and laying on my sides makes my hips hurt. But sitting on a yoga ball and rocking? Blisssss!

Just starting to get uncomfortable in general - sleeping hurts my hips, sitting makes it hard to breathe, belly is sore when rolling over.

But I am still moving! We did about 3-4 miles of walking or so on Sunday. I have walked at least 1-2 miles every day the last few weeks, but this was walking around a city for most of the day. My parents kept insisting that I needed a break (DH kept quiet, as he knows that I usually know my limits and that he is the only one I let "overrule" me because sometimes he can see I am more tired than I realize and being stubborn). My parents thought DH wasn't being considerate by "letting" me walk around and I kinda let them have it - I told them that the only way to keep moving through this pregnancy is to keep moving (duh) and that I wouldn't do anything to hurt the baby, and they needed to just trust that DH and I have this figured out. I stretched and took a bath when we got home and I am fine!

QOTW: I didn't realize how much I would enjoy pregnancy. It was hard to get to this point, and I guess I just expected nothing to go the easy way. I figured if I was lucky enough to ever get pregnant, it would be miserable and pukey and uncomfortable and with complications. So far, I am incredibly blessed with a remarkably easy pregnancy and I have really enjoyed it! I have the "glow" and I just love feeling my little guy kick. It's probably a good thing I am not fertile as I would likely want to be pregnant more than our agreed upon two babies (or rather two pregnancies, if we end up with twins next time) and would end up with a whole baseball team!

Hi ladies!

@Ashris13 No cervical check last week because they told me that my blood pressure was high so the whole cervical check thought went out the window!  But my blood pressure was back to normal two days later, which is good.  6 days of work left and I'm counting down!!

I'm 37w5d today.  I have a regular appointment today and then next Thursday will be my last before my RCS on the 24th!!  Holy cow!  Hoping my blood pressure is still normal.  I'm feeling pretty good, overall, but sleep is hard and I'm uncomfortable.  Comes with the territory though, I guess!

QOTW:  I feel like this pregnancy was so much harder than my first.  Chasing a toddler around is exhausting in itself, but while hugely pregnant its even harder.  Once he goes to bed, I completely crash!  Thank god I have a super helpful DH.

Hi everyone! I might have missed last weeks check in!

I'm 34 weeks today! Had a check up yesterday and was told that baby is measuring ahead 37 weeks! So I have an ultrasound on Monday to get a more accurate measurement! Not sure what that means exactly!? Baby big, might come earlier, change due date, more fluid than normal? Not sure guess I'll see what the doctor says! But giving my due date is Christmas Day I would be thrilled to have baby girl early!

The nursery is coming along and just about done. Just been doing all the wash for her things and organizing all the shower gifts to put everything away nicely! Washed and sterilized all the bottles and binks and made room for that in the kitchen. Hubby put together all the big stuff and seats. Just needs to put together the stroller! I need to get my hospital bag ready yet too!

I've been feeling pretty good still have my energy and I'm none stop all day. But the swollen feet have started now by the end of the day! I'm also dealing with carpal tunnel pain in my right hand that started a few weeks ago. It sucks I have no feeling in my right hand and fingers except constant pins and needles. My doctor said the only cure is to have a baby because it's caused by the water retention in my hand. Awesome! Wish I wasn't a right handed person! So that's been difficult to deal with while trying to get things done.

Other than that things have been great and I've really enjoyed being pregnant! Like everyone else however the sleeping part is definitely tough! I'm up like every 3-4 hrs to pee or switch positions because I'm sore or have a dead arm.

Ashris13 - sleep is going ok...last 2 nights have been better simply because I am not really letting myself roll over onto the other side anymore (have a LOT of pain when I do that).

Hmm - not totally pregnancy related but associated - we are moving out the furniture from the guest room and painting will start this weekend.

How are you feeling? 

Ehh - not great, not terrible.  I do have a LOT of pelvic pain which I am starting to worry about.  The instructor who teaches my prenatal strengthening class thinks it may be pelvic dysplasia.  REALLY hoping it is just normal aches and pains but will ask at my appointment Monday.

 QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? 

I feel terrible saying / thinking this but how hard this pregnancy has been and how much I don't enjoy being pregnant.  I am SO thrilled we are finally pregnant, but this hasn't been easy.  I was sick up to 21/22 weeks, and then had a few good weeks before the pain set in, lack of sleep, etc.  And since it was so hard for us to get here in the first place I am so grateful we are in the final stretch but I seriously question if I could do this all again for a 2nd in the future. (trying to get pregnant and then going through pregnancy again).  I think I just thought - okay - it has been really hard for us to get pregnant, so now that I am pregnant it will be an easy pregnancy, how wrong I was.

Hi everyone! Yeah...so I still need to make that appointment with the pediatrician. Oops!

How far along are you? I'm 30 weeks 4 days today

Upcoming appointments? My regular OB on Monday went well - everything still looks fine. However, yesterday I noticed blood in my urine again so I had to go back for another analysis. It's so weird - I don't have any UTI symptoms. The nurse said there's a lot of blood though so right now we're just trying to figure out what's going on. From now on, I'll see my OB every two weeks and I also have two growth/weight scans scheduled for 34 and 39 weeks!

Any updates to share? Not really. We're just trying to get everything settled, preferably before our holiday visitors start arriving in December. I think we have most of the big stuff taken care of (bed, car seat, clothing, diapers), I just need to work on little details like washing and organizing everything.

How are you feeling? Pretty good! Even though I wake up often (really often) to pee, I still feel like I'm sleeping better and I have less hip pain. Baby's movements are really intense now so that's weird, but I find it so comforting that I don't mind. Every few days I'll have strong BH contractions, but they always go away with rest.

QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? I'm surprised that I like feeling the baby move. I thought it would really bug me (kind of like the way it bugs me when I have a splinter that I can't remove), but I like this. I love knowing that he's there and doing fine.

Updates? Not really, its all just getting harder (as I expected) sleeping, walking, sitting, its all just hard. MIL may bring cribs this weekend (I sped that up by just asking about them a couple times :-) ) My parents are coming to take maternity pics Sunday! I'm excited about that! And my sister and her 5 kids (ages 12-20) are planning to come the day after thanksgiving to spend time with us and help put up the tree. Im really looking forward to spending time with them!

How are you feeling? Ehhhh. Where to start... sitting in the recliner is uncomfortable (get short of breath and light headed), turning side to side doesn't work either (my arms go to sleep), my ribs are SO sore, something is pinched in my back, and my stomach is just painful. Sorry, that's my vent :-) but on top of all this I'm so ready to hold my babies!

QOTD: I really didn't expect to have to leave work so early. I have enjoyed the experience of being pregnant but it had been hard the entire time. I figured I would still be actively doing things at this point. Even just fixing something quick to eat wears me out. I try to do small cleaning chores but most of the time I have to just stop. Also I'm surprised that ppl just think they can say anything to a pregnant lady. I had an old man at DHs family reunion make a very inappropriate statement. I mean REALLY, I know about the birds and the bees dude, shut up.

Any updates to share?  The big move is tomorrow and we’ve been busy packing.  Nursery is taking shape, dresser and crib are already put together.  I actually did all that by myself because DH is painting and doing other stuff I’m not allowed to do.  So excited about washing her outfits and setting up the rest of the room.

How are you feeling?  I still feel pretty good!  No major complaints.  Although my preggo brain is getting worse according to DH.

QOTW: Baby hiccups in the womb!  My SIL told me about them before but to feel them a few times a day is just weird and amazing at the same time.

Hi ladies,

Had a successful 3D US last night, thought I'd share my beautiful baby girl's face at 32 weeks exactly.  In love with her already and can't wait to meet her!  Isn't she cute?!

Hi ladies! I haven't checked in for a few weeks, as I've had some really crazy anxiety going on. I'm still in denial I think.

Today I'm 34+2 and had my first NST yesterday. Baby girl looked great and it was nice to hear her heartbeat and hear her moving around during the test. Hopefully, that helps with my anxiety.

I'll have NST every week until I deliver and we have a growth u/s in two weeks.  

 

We have the nursery ready to go and only have a few more things to do before I'll feel ready to bring a baby home. Time is running out, so I should probably get my butt in gear! However, I fell in the parking lot at work this past week and sprained my foot, so getting around on crutches at 8 months pregnant isn't really helping me get things done very quickly!

 

QOTW: I think that I'm surprised that I'm still waiting for the other shoe to fall, which has only allowed me to enjoy this pregnancy in small spurts. The pregnancy hasn't been easy and that has led to a lot of anxiety lately. I am definitely ready to be done and meet my LO.

Any updates to share?  Baby has dropped ....  I definitely felt a noticeable change from Sunday to Monday. She's delivering punches to my left hip bone on a regular basis.  My midwife told me to start sitting on the birth ball and help baby get into position.  

How are you feeling?  Overall I still feel great.  I'm finding that I'm starting to understand how pregnant women feel uncomfortable (baby sitting low, pressure on the cervix, etc). 

QOTW: I'm shocked at how great I've felt this pregnancy.  I guess I always expected pregnancy to be difficult and to feel horrible.  It's been the exact opposite.

Upcoming appointments? Next week, then I go every week, also crazy!

Any updates to share? I think baby is head down so that's good! Car seat is installed, diapers ready...almost there!

How are you feeling? Great! Wish I could exercise more but I hate the cold. And we have to walk in the morning and I'm not a morning person so we've only been going about 2x a week

 QOTW: Has there been something about your pregnancy or pregnancy in general that you were not expecting or surprised you? I know I'm blessed to have an easy time, a healthy baby/good health, but I'm surprised how easy pregnancy has been. Maybe because I'm so excited to be pregnant the little things don't bother me? Having a good hubby and exercising have helped too.

One other thing that surprised me was how scary the 1st trimester was. I thought I'd be so thrilled to finally get a BFP...did not anticipate all the fear and worry I'd have for 12 weeks. SO glad to be past that haha.

Super late.  It was such a busy week.  My 32 week appointment went well. Baby is getting big.  I am starting to get swollen so thats annoying but it is what it is.  

34 week appointment this week.
