Hello ladies! I can't believe I'll only be on this check-in for a couple more weeks. 25w6d today...feels like it's flying by! Right now on auto pilot and doing well, so can't complain. *REALLY* have to get the ball rolling on nursery painting! But this past weekend we cleaned out the garage so that's progress! Shower is in 3 weeks and then it's holiday season. Trying for a mini-baby moon right before Christmas.


QOTW: Hosting. I always host...mom makes the turkey since she refuses to relinquish turkey duty but I do everything else. The family is Cuban and if I left it up to them we might have rice & beans as sides, but I refuse! I cook like I'm feeding an army then spend a week having Thanksgiving all over again, lol! It's my favorite holiday

Hi ladies!  Hope everyone is doing well, @MissEm15 - sending good thoughts your way!

AFM, I'll be 26w tomorrow, I did my 1hr GTT yesterday, so I am anxiously hoping to hear that I passed!  Twins apparently increase the chances, so I'm really keeping my fx hard!  I've been ok overall, I still have a hard time complaining after all it took to get here, but my socks are harder to put on, sleep is hit or miss, heartburn sucks and I'm definitely getting more uncomfy.  But all that comes and goes, overall I would still say things are going really well.  I have my first shower this Sunday, I'm excited and also can't believe it's here, the time is flying by now!!

QOTW: Canuck here, so we already had Thanksgiving.  It's getting colder but knock on wood, no snow just yet, thanks goodness!  I'll be happy if that holds off a while longer!

Hi ladies! 25 wks here. Not much going on. Pregnancy wise I feel good but I STILL have this cough. Going on 7 wks. Chest xray all clear so doc game me cough syrup w/codeine and it hasn't done anything. He said this can last up to 3 months. I'm so over this MH did put the crib together on Sat! Now choosing a paint color is going to give me a headache lol.

QOTW: Going over to SIL's house. We all live close by. I just have to say I'm not a fan of Thanksgiving food...maybe the mashed potatoes? Love Orthodox Christmas where I can have some lamb cooked on an outside spit!!

Hi Ladies! It's so exciting to see how many of you are close to the third tri! I recently realized that the first tri is only ten weeks max, as you get a head start of 4 weeks. So the 13(ish) weeks in the second tri are a lot longer. And I'm sure the third trim probably feels like it goes on forever to those who make to 40 weeks or further.

Btw, I just noticed that @geordie314 is tagged wrong. Don't ask me how or why I remember that 4!

AFM, The A/S is on Monday and I am TERRIFIED. I keep trying to write sentences like "if all goes well" but I can't finish them. I really need it to be over. I've been trying to find stats about what % of women are told there's a problem at that scan, but I've been failing. It seems like it would be highest for those of us sent to the high risk docs, for two reasons: 1) we're more likely to have problems, and 2) the higher tech machines could pick up more detail. I do know a lot of the problems screened in are false positives, but it's still scary. I guess I'm just having a hard time accepting that this will really be a healthy baby after everything we went through. In the meantime, I've been distracting myself with building the registry and trying to get a few things used or on super sale. I guess this means I'm feeling positive despite my anxiety! It's also a lot more fun than the mountain of grading I'm working on (and will be through mid Dec.).

Oh, and we'll find out the sex Monday, too.

QOTW: Hosting! Both sets of parents and my Godparents. It will be an all-vegan meal for my OH's sake, although I'm also a vegetarian. We have a lot of yummy recipes picked out, and I love to cook, so this should be a good time. There's just a lot to get done before then!

21 weeks today, I feel like this second tri is crawling by. Everything is going well except I have a head cold and sore throat again. Nothing new in the appointment front, find out tomorrow if I have GD or not, have been using the doppler more at home since Ive been having some crazy sharp pains that radiate from my abd down to my pubic bone. 

Spending a lot of time getting ideas for yoda's nursery; waiting for the fabric swatches to come in to decide on paint for the nursery and paint to have my moms old french provincial dresser refinished. Ordered our glider since the factory closes for 2 weeks at christmas and we will probably order a crib soon.

QOTW: we already had thanksgiving (yay canada) at my cousins, her and I take turns hosting since my grandma passed, our houses are the only ones that we can seat all 14 people at the table at a time. Living in Alberta we do have snow, about 3 inches of it, and it's cold, -20 C (-4F), but I love the cold and and snow, feels so cozy.

((hugs)) @pblge, FX that monday comes quickly for you and I know everything will be great!  

AFM I am 19 weeks today, so counting down the days until next week and the 1/2 way mark.  We have our OB appt tonight, so that's something to look forward to, though I'm sure it will be a quick in and out, come back in 4 weeks.

We ordered furniture this weekend since I was able to take advantage of some Veteran's Day sales.  DH placed a few huge Lowes orders for finishing off part of our basement to make me a closet and a spare bedroom down there.  I will be losing 1/2 of my closet space soon.  Hopefully soon we can empty out what will be her room and get it painted and decorated. 

QOTW: We will be traveling to the IL's.  I love hosting, that way I get to create the menu.  But it's more challenging for EVERYONE to drive vs just us driving.

@BeckyP005 I love Christmas and Easter with my family because we have lamb.  I don't much care for traditional Thanksgiving food either since I feel like I can have turkey and mashed potatoes whenever.

Hello!  Not much to update for me...I'm counting down until either the A/S in 3 weeks or until I start feeling movement.  I'm still dealing with MS and was pretty sick over the weekend, but yesterday I had my first day ever since the BFP where I felt good ALL day - I was so excited.  Today, back to bleh.  

QOTW:  I love Thanksgiving!  We've hosted the last couple of years, since we got our house.  I go all Martha Stewart mode, but this year I'll have to tone it down and not overdo it.  We won't have that many people over this time, anyways.  We just have my parents and two of our friends come over, so I love that it's always free of family drama and plenty of booze to go around.  It'll be weird only being able to have one glass of wine this year.

Hey ladies!!! This is my last check-in of 2nd tri. 27w 4d today. 

I have one of my showers on Saturday and Im so excited. But even better is our growth scan is Monday. Cant wait to see my precious LO again. He is quite active these days. ... then on Wedneday I have my 1hr glucose test. Yaaayyyy?? (I did one at 9 wks and thought I would miss out on this one)

QOTW: Im hosting Thanksgiving at my house. My mother, sister and I have split up the dinner menu. Each is bring a meat, starch, and veggie for me to prepare. And my brother is responsible for all the dessert choices. Because of the hectic weekend this year, we arent being too picky. But it should be a great time.

Welcome new ladies! How are there people due in May in 2nd tri?! That is amazing.

I'm 25w and things are starting to fly by a little bit. Nothing of note going on over here, pregnancy has been very kind to me. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow and actually get to talk about some labor logistics like birth plans and birthing tub rental (I'm having a homebirth)

@pblge- I freaked out before my a/s too, but I really hope yours ends up being as magical as ours was! You get so much time looking at every little detail of your tiny baby!

QOTW: I get 2 Thanksgivings! One on Thursday with my family and one on Friday with my husband's. We have a 3 hour drive for the Friday one but nothing too strenuous. My only responsibilities are making an appetizer and a dessert for each event, so I'll be doing some test baking next week! Can't wait!

Nothing too exciting here. I have an apt early next week and then I fly out to visit the In-laws for a little thanksgiving-ish. I'm a little nervous because I'm not a great flier anyway, and then with the MS... we'll see!

Hello everyone! Been a little MIA lately, super busy at work. 21 weeks tomorrow, yipee! Felt the little lady for the first time Sunday. It was so cool. Next ultrasound is on the 24th, this will be the 5th so far. We couldn't get a good view of her heart last time so we had to redo.

Traveling to Oklahoma for thanksgiving where all my family lives. It's luckily a short 2 hour flight. Also, there is a good chance it will be that weird person on the plane wearing a mask. Can't risk getting sick this time. Ugh.

26 weeks tomorrow. It's been a busy week for us. We finished putting new baseboards and crown moulding in the nursery over the weekend. New carpet goes in Friday and I'm scheduling furniture delivery for Monday. So exciting. What's not so exciting is yet another kidney stone. I just started thinking I was past this too. :-(
We are going to my parents' house this year. Going to redeem myself after a turkey disaster last year. No more 25lb birds here! Last year it not only broke my sink but it also broke my roasting pan when DH took it out if the oven. I'm doing a smaller turkey and mom's doing a ham.

AFM,
26w2d today and feeling pretty good. Inching my way closer to 3rd tri!
I have my OB appt tomorrow and will be doing my glucose test. I am anxious and hopeful that I'm on track with my weight and such.
I am excited bc our glider is being delivered a month earlier than anticipated. The ottoman arrived this week and the actual glider will be delivered on the 24th. Can't wait to see how it looks and feels in the room.
QOTW: we aren't sure of our plans yet. We originally planned to host, but my grandma has been in and out of the hospital the past 2 weeks, and it might make more sense to have my mom and aunts close in case anything comes up with her. I'm leaving it up to my one aunt to get the consensus.

Hi ladies! I am doing much better with the sickness part, still have bad days but so much more manageable. We only have 9 days till we know boy or girl and are so excited! I just want to say their name and not "it"!

We will be going to Alabama for Thanksgiving. I am so excited to know the sex so I can stock up on some Bama baby gear!

Had an appt. on Monday, heard the heart beat, got a flu shot, and they told us DH tested negative for CF.  THANK GOD!!!!!!  Now onto more blood work next week and then we can find out the sex next month!!

QOTW:  We are going to DISNEY for Thanksgiving.  Super ready to get out of here!

Chugging along here.... At our last scan the tech was 80% sure we are having a GIRL! I go for a fetal echo on 11/18.

We started ordering A's new bedroom furniture and we will be moving her stuff she has now into the new baby's room. I can't wait for the new furniture! It looks so pretty!

QOTW: we (I) are hosting. DH has to work so it'll be my dad, my crazy aunt, maybe my one SIL and her two teens.....and a few other maybe's... I need numbers people! Lol! I'm going to try and get as much done in the day or two before, because without DH home, cooking with the toddler is going to be very difficult! It'll all work out somehow! I really like cooking for very one and I miss cooking for more than 2(.5) people!

I'm late, but it's been a crazy week! I had an ultrasound on Wednesday at 16w, 2d to check my cervix (which measured great...phew!) and I asked the ultrasound tech if she could tell the sex yet and she said, "yes, I know what it is". So we asked her if she'd tell us, and she showed us the butt view and said, "see right between the legs, there's nothing there"...lol We are very excited for a little girl but I'm super paranoid that the ultrasound could be wrong...guess I'll just have to wait 1 month to get confirmation (hopefully).

QOTW: Another Canadian here, so already had Thanksgiving....now on to Christmas planning

Sorry for postng so late.  It's been that kind of week.

I'm 16w2d today.  I had my 2nd MFM appointment yesterday, and I got to see both babies.  Unfortunately, the big screen was broken, so it was a bit hard to twist my head to see the smaller screen.  Good news - the placenta that was close to my cervix has moved up, up & away (from the cervix anyway).  It's in a much safer place, and I'm off pelvic rest.

I'm looking forward to the A/S on 04-Dec.  I'm sorry you're so nervous for yours @pblge - ((hugs)) Hoping it's all a positive experience for you.

QOTW:  We are going to my parents' house on Thanksgiving day - at least half of my siblings should be there.  And, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we're hosting my IL's.  My MiL will rescheduled any holiday, until she's sure absolutely everyone can be there, so no one ever misses one.  We should be hosting 14-16 people, depending on whether nieces & nephews bring their SO's.  I have a love/hate with hosting holidays.  I ranted about it recently, so in an attempt to maintain some dignity, I'll leave it at that.

I am not looking forward to over-eating twice, but there's a better than average chance I'll do it anyway.  Maybe I can just remind myself about my MFM's warning that I'm gaining a bit to fast, and just lay off the extra mashed potatoes.  But c'mon, guys.. .MASHED POTATOES!! =P~

Can I be added? I am due May 15- with a little girl ( I'm 14 weeks 1 day today). I haven't been very active lately- by the time I come home from work and eat dinner, it's bed time for me! Still battling all day MS, although it's better some days. Most days I just feel like crap! Lol! I've lost between 15-18 lbs since finding out we were pregnant. Mostly the first month. Dr doesn't seemed too concerned though! My newest symptom is headaches that last days on end. I'll be happy when this passes and I'm feeling better!

QOTD- we are going to my SIL and it sounds like it will be a pot luck. still have to decide what to bring! I love leftovers from thanksgiving- almost as much as the meal the first time

OMG!! I couldn't find this post- and I starting freaking out.. ha ha 

Sorry it's late- It's been a crazy week. I had my A/S on Thursday and everything looks great. I won't tell you how freakin scared I was since I've been on progesterone and prednisone for 18 weeks... they both carry small risks of side effects to baby.

We came back from our baby moon on Monday. I have an appointment with a new OB after Thanksgiving that my co-worker raves about, so I'm hoping this is finally the person who will deliver me. 

QOTW: I have my IVIg infusion Wednesday night- so I will have absolutely no energy most of Thursday. I told DH to find someone to take us in- and he did.. Hoping to have enough energy by 6pm because I have a lot of shopping to do.

Hi ladies! Thanks for all the kind well wishes. We are doing well.. Hopefully will be discharged today or tmr. I'm still having contractions but I'm stable. My doc needs to check my cervix to make sure it's still unchanged for me to go home. I will be on modified bed rest at home, but will be amazing to have my bed! Oh & I failed my 1hr test but passed the 3hr thank goodness!!

So happy to read everyone's great updates! Good luck to everyone testing soon! & finding out sexes

Hi ladies! I'm even later to the party!
I'm at 22.5wks. I feel okay, but get overwhelmed occasionally. (I can't believe there's another human growing inside me sometimes.) All appointments have gone well. My OB only does h/b appts until 28wks, so it's weird to not see the fetus at all (since A/S). I saw an MFM who said I'm totally healthy, and so is the fetus, so there's absolutely no reason to see him unless I feel I'm not getting proper care. That was good news! I also (finally) started being able to distinguish baby movements from bowel movements last week, which is exciting!

We are very behind on nursery planning. I'm okay with that because it's stressful tearing rooms apart that have just been collecting junk for years!

We'll be hitting up a dinner at my relatives, and then heading over to DH's family. It's annoying, but I guess not really fair if we don't do both.

@BeckyP005, I'm sorry to hear you're STILL dealing with that cough! I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but coincidentally, my (homeopathic) cousin just mentioned that eating pineapple works better than cough syrup. I have not tried this, nor do I really believe it, but at this point, you might be desperate enough to try anything... especially something that's cheap, easy, and tastes good.
