Braxton and Hicks

Is there anyone else that simply has the worst Braxton and Hicks Contractions? Lately, I haven't been able to even sit down and it's getting more and more painful and then when baby moves it comes in quick sharp pains shortly after. Does anyone know of any relief that I could try?

Re: Braxton and Hicks

  • I never got them with DD but this time around a walk to the kitchen invokes stopping and freeze dancing lol. Dr told me just to Change position and that helps them go away. This baby is 1000 times more active than DD was I think she is just hitting something making things worse. Good luck.

  • From your description, I'm not totally sure you are having Braxton Hicks contractions. This could be something else entirely. Braxton Hicks should feel like a practice contraction - a tightening in your uterus but not as strong as a true contraction. They are rarely painful and I've never heard of them being onset by baby kicks. Most doctors tell you to try changing positions, walking, and drinking lots of water to help them. I would call your doctor or midwife to describe the pain you're having.

  • Yeah that does not sound like BH. My BH contractions have gotten slightly more uncomfortable over the last couple weeks, but they don't hurt at all and I don't think they are supposed to. Just gets really tight and hard, then it passes, so some slight discomfort but not to the point where it hinders my ability to sit down or move around. call your doc!
