How often is it normal to have an ultrasound?

I am 11w4d and my next appointment is tomorrow. I found out at the first u/s when I was 8 1/2 weeks that it is twins..identical. I am high risk and have had 3 miscarriages in the past. I found out today that I am NOT scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow (long story- my dumb prego fog butt thought the appt was today and when I went in I found out it is tomorrow..asked if they could go ahead and do the ultrasound today because I was dying to see the babies again and that's when they told me I wasn't going to even be having one)

Is this normal? Should I ask for one? Should I ask for a referral to MFM? Should I just quit being crazy and worrying? It just seems like I would need more monitoring than usual with this pregnancy and doesn't feel like I am getting it. Granted, it HAS only been about 3 weeks since my last appointment, so maybe I am just being overbearing.

I had an u/s at every appointment. My appointments were every 3 weeks from about 8w to 22w and then every 2 weeks until I delivered preterm. I just had an OB. I never expected to have so many u/s but that is just how my OB did things.

You are going to get a lot of different answers.

I did fertilty treatments to get pregnant so I had a ultrasound with my RE at 6 wks.  Then I was sent to my OB where I had a u/s at 9 wks.  Then I was sent to the MFM for a NT scan at 12 wks- I then had a cervical length check and u/s at the MFM for weeks 14, 17, 20 (anatomy scan), 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 (started also doing growth scans), and 32 weeks- I delivered at 34 w 3 d - I had a u/s scheduled for that week.

My boys were di-di, I was AMA and I developed high BP that developed into pre-e.

I have had a Sono every three weeks from 8- 24ish weeks then every two weeks. I see an OB and MFM. With identical a I would ask to see an MFM for extra monitoring personally.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going into my appointment a lot more prepared this time; I have a list of things to ask about and asking how often I will get ultrasounds is on the list. I want to see my babies as much as possible! I think that is only natural.

I'm only 14 weeks but between my ob and mfm I've had 3 so far 7w,11w,NT scan @ 11w6 days. I have an apt scheduled for ob on monday and then mfm @19w and ob @20 weeks . I'm not complaining

I had 2 at re before 7 weeks. Then nuchal at 12weeks. Anatomy scan at 18. Then growth scan 28 weeks and one next week at 32 weeks.

Ok so I was worried for nothing! The Dr. went ahead and did an ultrasound today! And I have my first MFM appt. in 4 weeks and he said he will do an ultrasound at every visit. I still really dislike him though, but at least he is being thorough.

I only had one U/S with my OB at 9 weeks. He referred me to a MFM that appt and I get a U/S every 3-4 weeks with them.
