Can I ask about any experiences with elevated prolactin?

Hi everyone,

I just got some test results back and found that I have slightly elevated prolactin (46).  I am curious if anyone has had experience with RPL and slightly elevated prolactin.  From what I've read, high levels of prolactin can inhibit ovulation but slightly elevated levels might be related to RPL.  I have an MRI scheduled in a few weeks to look at my pituitary gland and then an appt with the RE after that.  I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

errr it was a legit question. I didn't take it to mean she was asking for medical advice more experiences from ladies who have dealt with this issue.

I don't have any experience with this, but I do hope you get the answers you need and perhaps someone here has some experience.

Yes! I do have this issue also. I found my elevated prolactin back when we started TTC two years ago. After dealing with my thyroid issues, the doctor thought it would work itself out, turns out it did not... I had an MRI and they found a tiny pituitary tumor. They then put me on Cabergoline for this. My levels have always been barely elevated (30-40) but I think it was enough to prevent my ovulation for several months. After increasing my dosage for the third time, I finally got pregnant. Of course, now I'm here so we all know how that turns out. But honestly if it is the tumor, it is easily treated and I really haven't experienced too many terrible side affects. Good luck

Yep, I have talked with my doctor and have an RE appt scheduled for even more questions. I was merely hoping to see if anyone else has found themselves in this situation. I'm definitely not asking for medical advice, just support/connections.
