TTC after 35

Intro - losses mentioned

Hi Ladies,

I have been kinda lurking around here for awhile, posting mostly on TTCAL, but wanted to intro here too!

I just turned 36, and have been TTC for almost a year now.  I have had two blighted ovum in that time.  I am just waiting for one cycle to start trying again and we have also had an initial appointment with an RE already and are getting blood work done next week.  Figured we should get on that now because I am all paid up on my insurance deductible, so might as well get as much done as I can right!?

In the rest of life, i have been married since May 2013, we have an adorable pup that we just got in September, and we just bought a house, so we have been spending most of our time fixing that up!

I like bourbon, baked goods (primarily brownies, but also pie) and beer (i realize that is two kinds of alcohol on my list, take from that what you will!).  I do flying trapeze and other circus arts for fun (the lady in my avatar is not me). I also like snark, but I try to keep it in check since it doesn't always go over well in print :-)

Looking forward to getting to 'meet' everyone!

  • I'm sorry for your losses. Welcome to the board. How do you ever get into flying trapeze? Of course now I am singing "She flies through the air with the greatest of ease..."

  • Welcome and good luck TTC!

And may I add that the trapeze thing amazes me!

    Also, what kind of puppy?
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Welcome!

I did a circus skills class as a kid and loved the trapeze! I'm even scared of heights but had so much fun!

    36, DH 31 TTC #1 since we got married, July 2014. http://FertilityFriend.com/home/522fa4/
  • @nikolle93 she is a "stafordshire terrier mix", which really just means she is probably a pit bull :-)

@wannabmama23 you should try it again, it's still just as much fun!
  • Avery warm welcome
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!

Off Mirena Nov 2013, On Nuvaring end of Jan, Back off Sept 2014.  Never ending cycle starting end of Sept...
    11/14 Provera failed... cycle continues
12/14 High FSH (57 "midcycle")  OBGYN had no clue... about anything
01/15 More lab results coming back from RE. U/S showed small (1")cyst on left ovary, thin lining, and couldn't locate right ovary so  possibly straight to DE and IVF

Occassionally mess with the chart below to see "what if" and learn (not to make it pretty but because FF stays drunk with me).

  • So sorry for your losses.
I'm a whiskey girl, it's close to bourbon so maybe be can be friends. LOL.

Welcome to our little group. Snark is minimal here but occasionally called for. We tend to be a little more laid back than some if the other groups. I hope you find us helpful and comforting.
    I wish you well.

  • Welcome to the board, and I truly hope it is a very short but wonderful stay.  Great group of ladies here!!  I am sorry for your losses.

I am a vodka girl. I can not do dark liquor what so ever.  SO is trying to wean into it.  It just doesn't agree with me.

How cool on the trapeze!  That has to be fun and great way to work off aggression or relax with the adrenaline rush.  (I am an adrenaline junkie and work my aggression off at the shooting range or in my garage with my BB/Pellet gun and target practice.  Sometimes a bottle will be annihilated.)

I am an American Pit Bull Terrier and related bully breeds enthusiast.  They are the best breed of dogs out there.  SO and I are going to deviate from that breed though within the next 6 months.  We are working on obtaining a Doberman.

@hooligans4 I like whiskey too we can totally be friends, we will alternate whiskey and bourbon!

@ababymaybe4us - you gotta drink it super cold to start and with a splash of water to tone it down. I still usually use a splash of water or wait till the ice melts a little bit before I drink it.

  • Sorry for your losses and welcome to the board. I don't think I have ever tried bourbon. I do vodka, but I try to keep my drinking to a minimum because it brings out my inner pyro. I might have put my socks on on a stick, set them on fire, and ran around the camp last time I drank.

LOL My husband just got home from his all guy hunting trip and he said his friends were still laughing about me doing that.  It was the first time I had met all the guys also so I think I made a lasting impression.
