Pregnant after a Loss

UPDATE :) Getting a little antsy... waiting for Panorama results

Good afternoon, lovelies.  I was feeling pretty calm and collected last week, but this week's waiting has been a bit more stressful!  I'm confident that my LO is healthy, but I'm just not very patient when it comes to waiting...  PLUS, I'm so excited to find out if we're having a BOY or a GIRL!!   I spent hours last night looking through my baby name book just because I figured I might as well give in to the fact that I couldn't focus on anything else!  With today being a holiday (THANK YOU VETERANS!), I know that I won't be getting results today.  Actually, it's very possible that I won't be getting them until next week.  Our draw was a week ago Monday, at the very end of the day.

Thanks for listening and in advance for the support... as... I... continue... to... wait...!!

So I got a call this morning from the nurse... they did run the Verifi test instead of the Panorama (apparently they don't even offer that one at my clinic any longer?!).  Baby is healthy!!!!!  I'm focusing on the healthy results of the tests/screens they did run instead of thinking about the few that didn't get run.  Oh, and if you haven't already figured it out... TEAM PINK!!!!  We're revealing to our immediate families this weekend and then announcing to other family and friends on our Christmas cards.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as I waited!!!

  • Thanks, all!!  I've really been trying to limit the use of my doppler, but I couldn't resist this morning.  Hearing that little heartbeat certainly makes the waiting more bearable!  Shhhh... just don't tell DH!  An ultrasound tech said something to use about all the risks involved in using one, so he's against using it more than once every other week or so!  I'm choosing to have more faith in my OB telling us during our last pregnancy that there were no real risks in moderate use, other than worrying if you can't find it.  Has anyone else been told that there ARE risks?
  • Unofficial update and SLIGHT freak out: So I got an email saying that I had a test result posted to my online medical chart.  Cue dancing in my kitchen!  I opened the email, but it said: Verifi no aneuploidy detected.  Of course I'm taking that as a healthy result (YAY!!!), but I was supposed to have the Panorama test (more accurate and tests for more abnormalities) AND I asked to find out the gender.  NOT listed in my online results.  I have a reveal party planned with my family this weekend, and I'm going to be so upset if they gave me the wrong test AND didn't test for the sex!  I hope to have a more official update tomorrow!  Oh, btw, while I'm ranting, I emailed with a nurse on Thursday who got very short with me about how LONG it was going to take for the results and assured me that they would call me as soon as they came in.  Pretty sure I haven't received a call and the online chart says that they were resulted on 11/14!!!  Ok, Done!!  Thanks for listening (er... reading), ladies!!
  • Thank you, @megdowntheshore.  I'm THRILLED at what I think (and hope) is good news!  I guess my PGAL brain wonders if they did that wrong test that it didn't test for as many things as I was expecting with the Panorama?  I guess only tomorrow will tell!
  • Boy or girl. I neeeeed to know!!!! I'll be looking for your update tomorrow! I'm glad the results they did post were good! :)

  • I'm kicking myself - I asked the lady taking my blood, "You only need one vial?" because I thought I remember someone mentioning that they had to take multiple for the Panorama.  She said, "Yes, only one."  Was just reading somewhere online that you need at least two vials for Panorama.  WHY in the world didn't I confirm that she was drawing for the right test?  And that knowing the sex was indicated?
  • SO excited about your healthy baby girl!!!! Can't wait to hear about all your plans for the nursery, etc! So thankful and happy for you and YH!!!!

  • Thank you ladies!!! :)  I feel so blessed and thankful to have received healthy results!  I couldn't be happier!!  I think it will really help my IL's finally be excited for this baby.  Our LO will be the first granddaughter on my side, which is really special to me because I was also the first granddaughter on my dad's side.  She will have mine and my grandmother's middle name (dad's side)... I can't wait to share the news!!
