Weird AF...Need Advice

So this past month I did my 3rd iui. MH sperm count was 20 million post wash and I had two good mature follicles. I was on crinone and also was given trigger shot before my iui. In past cycles I have been on 50mg and 100mg clomid...This was my first month being on 150mg clomid. Each cycle they always check my lining and it has always been normal.

So I tested last week Wednesday (which was exactly 2weeks after my trigger shot)..it was a bfn and then I tested again last Friday and it was another bfn.

I was supposed to start AF this Monday (yesterday) but it came a day early. And idk if I should even call it AF. It's brown and just spotty.. All I need is a panty liner that lasts through the day. And then it's not red it's brown and only when I wipe. Yesterday it was brownish/black and very light (sorry for the tmi!) I go into today to discuss what our next plan of action will be and depending on how everything looks they may do blood work. I told my nurse about this weird "AF".

So to get to my question. .. has anyone had a similar situation and ended out pregnant? I always have high hopes and with this not being normal for me I'm holding out on that hope. Another thing to add in is that I have no symptoms of AF like I normally would...no cramping, no backache nothing.

Any feedback would be great! My appt isn't until 2:30 today so I'm just anxious on finding out what's going on with my body.

It sounds like an annovulatory period but not sure how that could be with the meds.

@luvboston‌ thanks for the response! Hope that is not what it is. I have always ovulated on my own even before I went to RE. And with being on all these meds I have definitely been ovulating. But who knows that may the problem this month. The reason we were referred to RE was because MH sperm morphology wasn't what they like to see it at and we had been ttc for a year.

Pretty much all of my periods were like this before and after the boys, but never during treatment cycles. I knew they weren't anovulatory cycles, as my post ovulation bloodwork came back confirming O, but indicating low-ish progesterone. Last spring, I started having as long as a week of brown/black spotting before AF ever showed up. My OBGYN has run tests and there isn't really an explanation. She knows it's not anatomical, so she's got me on a course of the pill to see if that helps anything. I'm on day 15 of bleeding today, so things aren't really going well. I'm definitely not pregnant, so no insight there.

I have heard stories of spotting like this being related to early pregnancy, but it's hard to guess without a quantitative HCG blood test. Does your RE run a beta as part of your treatment plan? Are you still on Crinone? I've never taken it, but Endometrin made me have the type of spotting you are describing.

@jesselayne8‌ I stopped the crinone on Wednesday the day I testes...so technically last Tuesday was my last day of crinone.

@Ruthie04‌ No Beta In My Treatment Plan and So Far I Have Not Been dx With endometriosis. I will update as soon as I get done with my appt!

So my appt went fine today with my RE. They did a pregnancy test which to no surprise was negative. They had a little trouble finding my left ovary but they did and lining and everything looks good. As far as my weird AF they are thinking it's all the hormones and meds I'm on. They don't seem to be to concerned about it.

I am no longer going to be on clomid. .. we are doing fertility shots the rest of this week and then Saturday I go in for blood work to check my estrogen levels. I will again have the hcg trigger shot and will do iui again. This will be #4 for me. I feel like this is going to be a never ending process but hopefully I'll get that bfp this round...just in time for the holidays. Thanks again for the feedback I really appreciate it!

Clomid doesn't work for everyone.  I'm sorry for the BFN, but hopefully the shots work better for you.  GL.
