  • AFM: I'm 3DPO, but not feeling very confidant.  O came a few days early, so DH and I didn't have great timing.  Also, most of my O pain was on the left, which is the side with no tube.  So, I'm just waiting for AF to try again.

QOTW:  I do not have today off.  My DH is a veteran, as is his father.

  • Hey Everyone,

I am going to jump in here. New to the board - I intro'd on Friday. My first mc happened last month and I had a EDD of 6/19/2015.

Where are you in your TTCAL journey/cycle, etc? The doctor said because my mc was so early (I was about 5 wks or so, but think the mc was around 4) that we were clear to try again as soon as we wanted to. We are currently back at TTC and I'm at CD20, hoping to confirm O soon.

QOTW: I do not have today off which is a bummer. I'm happy about it though because I'm trying to take tomorrow off for my birthday.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you ladies!!

  • @rmpar29  -- Thanks for the check-in lady. I am sorry timing was not on point. Good to hear your spirits are still up! GL for the TWW.

Tested this morning and BFN which I am not surprised. This cycle has been so unkind to me. My temps are messing with me as well and giving me some hope, but I know timing was not there this cycle. Waiting for AF who is due tomorrow so we shall see. I am feeling much better, thanks.

QOTW: Do you have today off? Do you have any veterans in your life?

Class today and I have family and friends who served and are still serving.

@agpjt413 -- waiting for AF after loss sucks. HUGS!!!! Take the time you need and decided what feels right for you. GL

  • Hello all,

I'm also new to this check-in.  My EDD was 06/03/15.

Where are you in your TTCAL journey/cycle, etc? Any updates/appointments you'd like to share?  At this point, just waiting for AF. I thinks she may be on her way - starting to feel those first symptoms. I have an appointment on Wednesday to check to make sure the m/c was complete. FX that I don't need a D&C.

QOTW: I am off today and have several wonderful friends who have proudly served our country!

  • @agptj413 - I'm sorry that those ugly cry moments are still creeping up on you.  I've heard many times that you will know when you are ready to try again when your desire to have a baby outweighs your fear of another loss.  You will know when you are ready, so take all of the time that you need to heal both physically and emotionally.  ((((HUGS))))

@MrsOscarFelix - Welcome to the check-in.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  I'm glad that your doctor gave you the OK to try again.  Looks like you got a +OPK but no temp shift yet.  You might want to try a few more OPKs in case your body's gearing up again.

@kittymeowbark - Many ((((HUGS)))).  I'm sorry that your body being so uncooperative this month!  I hope that AF comes on time so you can start over.  I'm glad that you are feeling better.

@AngieL610 - Welcome to the check-in.  I'm very sorry for your loss.  I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and that you don't need a D&C.  Please update after your appointment if you are can.

@CFearsy - FF says that we had good timing, but O-1 was cleaning out the week-old swimmers, so I don't think that day helped us much.  I like to hit two days in the window with fresh swimmers.  Oh well!  I'm glad that your thyroid test was normal.  That's crappy that the clotting test couldn't be done, but I hope you get good news on Friday.  Did your b/w last time show low progesterone?  I'm glad that you are insisting on having that tested!

  • I had my blood taken again last week.  My HCG was at 14, and this week I have to take a pregnancy test.... I'm not excited about doing that.... If it comes back negative I'm fine and if it comes back positive I have to go to the dr. Has anyone had this experience or gone through something like this? I feel like I cannot begin to heal until this process is done.  I broke down last night when talking with my husband about buying a pregnancy test. I'm not sure I can deal with wanting a test to come back negative, that just doesn't seem right....
  • @jmicole1005 - I'm sorry that you are still struggling with your HCG.  I had an HCG that wouldn't go to 0.  It was at 19 two weeks after my miscarriage, then 6.12 at three weeks then 6.8 at four weeks.  The doctor told me the same thing, take a pregnancy test in 7-10 days and call us if it's positive.  I didn't take one.  I had to wait 2 cycles to TTC again anyway, so I said screw it.  At 6 (and I would assume 14 too) there's little to no chance of having retained tissue and I wasn't going to put myself through seeing a + or -HPT.  I'm not saying the same course of action is right for you, but it's what I needed to do.  ((((HUGS))))  I know where you are and it's not a good place to be.

4 DPO here and like usual, I don't feel confident. Our timing was fine, my O date was good, and my temps are currently good but I'm quite confident it will fall by the weekend and I'll be making a call to my doc next week.  I've decided I'm far enough removed from my loss in July that I feel comfortable pushing for an appointment considering my crappy LP before my loss and the 18 or 19 cycles it took to conceive.  If I get 11 days again though, I'll hold off on the appointment and keep trying.  It happened once, so maybe it'll happen again, right?

I had a hematologist appointment today, and again he referred to my prothrombin gene, so I'm going to have to go through my RPL results again tonight.  I know that my reports said I'm homozygous wild type for G20210A which is the Type II mutation he told me I had at my last appointment but on the phone when I called to clarify after checking the results myself, he agreed that I didn't have what he originally told me I had but that I was still at a slightly elevated risk for clotting because of my prothrombin gene.  At the time I thought "whatever, he just didn't like being corrected by a patient" but since he said it again today, I'm wondering if maybe I missed something on my blood tests and maybe I was tested for the A19911G prothrombin mutation too and just didn't notice. That one is a far less rare mutation so I wouldn't be surprised if I have it.  Just not sure why it wasn't flagged by the labs performing my tests...

QOTW: Unfortunately, I am working today.  My FIL is a vet as are a few of my uncles, cousins, and friends.

    November 2010 - 10.5 week loss  o:)
    October 2011 - DS (7)  <3
    July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)  o:)
    August 2015 - DD (3)  <3
    April 2018 - 5 week loss o:)

    Hi everyone,

I'm another newbie. I MC'd at the end of October. I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow to check HCG levels again and make sure they're back to normal. I'm hoping to get the okay to TTC again. When I went to the ER during my MC they told me 2-3 cycles though so I may still have a wait ahead of me...
My husband is the veteran in my life, but no day off for us.

  • I'm joining too if that's ok. I found out at the end of October that my pregnancy was a complete molar pregnancy, which meant I had to have a D&C about 2 weeks ago. I have to have weekly HCG checks until it gets to 0. Then, I'll be monitored for 6 months to make sure my numbers stay at 0. As long as all goes well,we can try again after that. I had my first weekly check last week, which was 1315 (down from 45,000 pre D&C). I go for my next one tomorrow, so I'm hoping for another drop.

QOTW: Yes I worked today.  My grandpa and DH's grandpa as well as a few of his cousins are all vets.
Together since April 2004.  Married since June 19th, 2010.
     BFP #1: January 31st 2012: CP.
BFP #2: June 1st 2012, Due:2/8/13. Avery was born via unplanned c section on 2/13/13.
     BFP #3: Sept. 25th, 2014. Due: 6/5/15.  MMC on 10/23/14. Confirmed complete molar pregnancy per D&C 10/29/14,
HCG officially negative 12/10/14.  Benched until June 2015.

  • @CheesyPeas - I'm glad that you are going to get into the doc.  There's definitely been enough time since your loss that your cycles should've fixed themselves if they were going to.  Good luck with figuring out the b/w.  I would love to give you advice, but I have no knowledge of that area.

@jordangoodnight - I'm so sorry for your loss.  Welcome to the check-in.  I hope that your levels are back to 0 and that you are cleared.  Good luck!

@schuebja - I'm very sorry for your loss, but welcome to the check-in.  I'm also sorry that you have such a long wait ahead of you, but I hope your HCG is 0 soon.

  • rmpar29 I took the test and it came back negative.  It was the weirdest feeling in the world. I made my husband go to the store and buy with me because I wasn't sure how I would react. I think I'm SLOWLY starting to feel like my body is normal again... Now I just want my period, lol...

  • agpjt413 – welcome to the check in.  I’m sorry you are here.  Emotions just suck with MCs.  Be good to yourself.  And talk things out with your DH.  It helps me to talk to mine.

@ MrsOscarFelix – I’m sorry you find yourself here, but welcome.  Don’t be surprised if your cycles post MC are a little wonky.  Looks like you are charting though so that’s good.

@kittymeowbark – sorry for the BFN.  I was hopeful for you seeing your chart.

AngieL610 – I’m sorry for your loss.  Hope your appt today went well.

@cfearsy – Glad your thyroid came back normal.  I hope you’re able to get answers with the clotting test.

jmicole1005 – I’ve read about folks having to continually test.  It sucks.  Hugs.  I’m glad that you were able to get a negative though (That seems weird to type)

@cheesypeas – Sorry you aren’t feeling confident about this cycle.  I hope you’re able to get answers and FX for a longer LP.

jordangoodnight – I’m sorry for your loss.  Hope your waiting period goes by quickly.

schuebja – Ugh – I’m sorry that you’re having to go through this.  It really sucks.  I hope your numbers continue to drop and stay at 0 for the 6 months.

AFM – Ugh… see thread posted on the main board, but I’m basically numb from my last loss.  I really hate that I’ve gone through 4 of these.  Of course my sweet June bug was my longest pregnancy to date so I have hope that I’ll be able to sustain a pregnancy at some point, but after 4 losses hope sometimes gets dim.  Thanks for having me back though and thanks @rmpar29 for checking on me and for including me in this week’s check-in.

I did “work” yesterday, but since I started bleeding yesterday and was in a bit of pain I worked from home.  It was easier that way.  That and I left my office on Monday in a crying fit after getting the call from my doc with my blood test numbers.  Ugh.

@AngieL610‌ It does suck to see that but it is some solace when our bodies cooperate in some part of this process. Hugs as you continue to heal.

  • @CFearsy, I checked my test results again at home and there was nothing about the A19911G prothrombin mutation so that was not part of my RPL work-up from July.  It's possible that my hematologist subsequently ran it when I was referred to him, so checking that is my next step.  Those results wouldn't have been in yet when I talked to him on the phone back in September and he told me that although I wasn't homozygous for the 20210 mutation as he orignally thought I was, I still at an elevated risk due to my prothrombin gene.  So I'm thinking he might be confused, and I know that I am.  Regardless of whether I have something else, my folic acid, Lovenox, and baby aspirin regimen will remain unchanged, so finding out is not really a huge deal before my next appointment but it's a pretty big source of annoyance for me right now and makes me wonder how much to trust my doc if he can't read a lab report.

  • @CFearsy, holy shit I would be livid if I was told my numbers were doubling only to find out that the doc goofed.  That is one figure you better be damn sure to check twice, particularly when calling up a woman who has experienced a prior loss!

And please ask away!  Most of my research has been related to MTHFR and Protein S deficiency since those are the two things I have (and then the prothrombin one made up by my hematologist).  Me and Lovenox are good buddies now so I can try to help ease any anxieties you might have there if your test results lead you down the Lovenox path.  Will your thrombophilia results be part of your appointment on Friday?

  • @CFearsy, I hope you giving the doctor a good "talking to" will help the way the office is operating!

My hematologist instructed me to use the Lovenox while TTC but I okayed it with him to just use it post-ovulation because it took me 18 cycles to conceive this past time.  I'm not going to give myself shots in the stomach for a year of TTC followed by a full pregnancy and 6 weeks post-delivery if I can help it.  That's a little much, so I give myself a two-week break every cycle. :)  From what I've read, there is a lot of variance between how doctors prescribe Lovenox.  Some do it after BFP, some do it after 6 weeks or whenever they confirm a ute-dwelling baby (since blood thinners make ectopics far more dangerous), and some wait until the second trimester.  Some believe, however, that having it in your system at implantation can affect the placental health later on in the pregnancy, so I'm glad that my hematologist is on the "Lovenox while TTC" team just in case the thought about placental health is true.

Some of the thrombophilia bloodwork is quantitative like the Protein S test.  I would guess that blood work will be in.  The MTHFR test and prothrombin mututation test are both genetic tests, however (and MTHFR is considered "experimental" and not covered by my insurance...that was a fun unexpected $1,000+ bill) and those were shipped off to Mayo by my hospital, so if you don't have a major hospital in your town, I would guess any genetic thrombophilia blood work for you might've been shipped off too and might not be in.  I'll keep my FX for you though.  Keep me posted!

@readinglove - You are more than welcome to join us, but I'm sorry that you find yourself here.  I'm glad that you are giving yourself time to heal physically and emotionally.  I took 3 cycles off after my last loss and felt much better TTC than previously when we only waited one cycle.  Good luck with your b/w!

((Hugs everyone)) Welcome to anyone new and I'm so sorry for your losses.

I did finally get a appointment with my ob only to have it rescheduled to meet with the nurse practitioner today. I told her everything that has been going on and that I wanted to know about blood work and possibly going back on progesterone. All she could do was talk about how she thought I should go on the pill to regulate my hormones and that it would work as good as the progesterone.. I just looked at her and was like " WE ARE TRYING TO HAVE A BABY!" I guess that confused her even more and she had to go talk to the dr for a good half hour. During that half hour she stopped in the room and asked if I needed a glass of water..I really needed a glass of wine but I didn't think she would appreciate my sarcasm. ;)

Finally she came back and the Dr decided that if we are sure we want to keep TTC that with all that has happened she is sending us to a infertility specialist about two hours away. I really don't know what to think or feel I guess. I'm excited that we could find out whats wrong and get our rainbow but I'm terrified at the heartbreak that we might have to go through. Everything just became a lot more real. :|

EDIT  (trigger warning. bfp warning not mine)

On top of all that has happened this week.. Also today (11/15) being the day that we found out there was no longer a heartbeat. My Hubby's cousin just texted him that they are unexpectedly pregnant.. Thanks world. Dump on me some more?

  • Hey everyone,

Im new to the board as I just cant do this alone any more. My EDD was 6/24/2015. Had D&C 11/7. Now just waiting to get my first normal cycle. Dr said after that we could try again. Waiting is the hardest.
  • @kittymeowbark - Any sign of AF?

@mmsly - I'm sorry that you find yourself here, but welcome.  Do you have a follow-up scheduled with your doctor?

@towncargirl - If you don't mind me asking, are they sending you to Rochester?  Feel free to ask me any questions!  I'm sorry that the NP was so horrible.  Obviously, BC is not conducive to TTC...idiot! SMH, some people just shouldn't work in an OB's office.  Many ((((((HUGS)))))  Do you have any appointment yet?

@Mommie2be18 - I'm so sorry that you find yourself here, but welcome.  Waiting is definitely the worst.  I hope that your body gets back to "normal" soon!

@Kellybenelly83 - I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm glad that you didn't have any damage to your tube.  I know what you mean about it being your business and no one else's!  I'm sorry that you had to deal with that on top of your loss.  There's also a TTA check-in on the board if you'd like to get support from other ladies in your position.  I was told to wait 2-3 cycles after my last loss, so I know how much you wish that time flies by.  (((((HUGS)))))

  • @rmpar29 Yes! they are sending me to Strong. I have to call tomorrow to set up the appointment they are faxing my file and checking to see if my insurance will work. I think my mom might be going up with me for the first appointment if Hubby can't get off work. Honestly I feel like the NP and my OB don't take us seriously because of our ages. I'm 21 and my Hubby is 24 and apparently that means that we are in the age gap where we shouldn't be trying to start a family or that we should be extremely fertile.. -.-

  • @towncargirl - Another bumpie went to Strong (I think).  Would you like me to have her contact you?  I'm sorry that your doc isn't taking you seriously.  Being younger certainly doesn't mean you should not look into fertility issues.  I hope that you get an appointment soon.  You might be able to do out-of-town monitoring, i.e. getting your b/w and u/s done locally, but have the RE run the show.
