  • I have never heard of that one before but mmm pineapple. With DD I mowed our 1 acre lawn with a push mower (my hubby usUally uses a ride mower) prior to that I walked 2 miles. It worked for me I had dd the next day.

  • I've never heard the pineapple before either, except in the tww to help baby implant. It was something about the core. Interesting. Have any of you had sinus with bad cough? I'm taking dm cough and antihistamine but makes me so sleepy with DS . Any natural remedies that would help better.

  • For about 2 weeks I used EPO, had lots of sex, bounced on a yoga ball, and ate pineapple and dates and the combo got me from 0cm dilated to 1.5-2cm dilated. Not sure how much of a role the pineapple played, but it certainly can't hurt to try! No contractions though. I've been trying everything under the sun to get those to start and nada.

  • Is there any consensus as to when the third trimester starts? At 27 weeks I will be 3 months before my due date, so that sounds right to me, but what to expect says 28 weeks, I think. What did you ladies use?

I've actually heard that nipple stimulation is the only thing proven to start labor. Although  my friend (STM first baby delivered on due date) stimulated her nipples constantly and still didn't deliver until 41w 6days on Friday.

I go by end of 13w for first trimester, end of 26w for second, end of 39w for third. I don't know if this is correct but I figure 40w divided by trimesters equals those and I'm pretty anal retentive about math, so...

I tried it Friday and Saturday off and on and then spent a solid hour on Saturday night, still nothing.  I've tried everything short of castor oil and pulling out my breast pump.  I'm seriously considering trying a little castor oil this afternoon to try to kick-start contractions overnight so that when I get to the hospital in the morning I won't need to be induced.

  • Before you do anything PLEASE speak with your provider. You have come too far to put your baby at risk. Seriously.

There is a paucity of data regarding the safety and/or efficacy of glucocorticoids, castor oil, hyaluronidase, acupuncture, evening primrose oil, herbal preparations, or sexual intercourse for labor induction.

There is some evidence for nipple stimulation, eating the dates, etc.

Castor oil is NOT recommended at our hospital due to the risk of fetal distress, dehydration in the mother (from nausea/vomiting/diarrhea but no labor) and increased risk of meconium aspiration in the fetus.

  • @samuelismomma make sure that your cough syrup doesn't have mucinex (guafenisin) in it because that can thin your cervical mucus and you do not need that right now.

Because you're a fellow cerclage mom and pre-term you need to call your provider and make sure anything OTC would be safe, even if it is natural or herbal.

  • Is 19 weeks real early for BH? I've had some heavy feelings low in the abdomen and tightness that will last a minute or two then go away. Not consistent or able to be timed. My Doc says it is just BH and not to worry unless I can time them and they get close together and/or become painful... My question is isn't it kinda early to already have BH? I dunno I've never been this far before!

Question 2... I have a virus in my sinus. (No infection, saw my doc yesterday) They told me to use afrin, sudafed D, and a nasal rinse for 3 days.  Anyone know anyway to relieve pressure on my ears and sore throat? I feel kinda miserable.

When do people start posting bump pics on friday? Any time or what? Is there a protocol? Cuz I'm starting to show a lot now. =) lol

  • @backstreetpixie I'm pretty sure I read somewhere the BH can in some cases start around week 16.  What To Expect says 20 weeks. I haven't felt any, but everyone is different.

I think that you can do a bump pic pretty much whenever you want. I think the earliest I have seen is 16 or 17 weeks. Post away!

@Drgn30‌ Funny that I've been absolutely craving dates this week (36 wks today). I wonder if my subconscious remembered this from when you posted it earlier and is trying to get me to get on it ;)

6 dates is a lot of sugar!
