Spotting...

Hello. I'm very new to the site. I'm 11 weeks 2 days. Right now is the time I usually would be getting my period. I just want to the bathroom and saw two drops of mucus looking blood. It was very light pink but mucus looking. Anyone else experience this? I'm already super paranoid. I have an appointment on wed. Thoughts anyone?

Re: Spotting...

  • It could be nothing, but I would go to the ER or try to get in with your OB tomorrow. I would confirm that everything is okay!

  • I wouldn't go to the ER. It could mean nothing, lots of women have spotting at one time or another. Just call your Dr and let them know. Just take it easy, no sex it can cause spotting too, and drink lots of fluids. Good luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!

Do NOT go to the ER for light spotting unless your dr tells you to. Call your OB just to let them know, sit down or lie down and rest up and drink plenty of water.

THIS.  The ER is NOT the place to run to when you are spotting mucous looking blood.  SMH!

  • Shows how much I know! Haha. If it were me I would have been at the ER before I even thought to post on the bump. But I'm also a paranoid freak. Sorry for the bad advice!

  • Hopefully it's nothing. Pink spotting could just be irritation of the cervix. I'd call your OB tomorrow to see if they want you to come in.

  • I was told to notify them of any bleeding; however, the nurse told me they don't worry until it becomes more of a period flow.
  • I spotted at 10w6d with my last pregnancy & went straight to the ER, I'm glad I did because I had an emergency ultrasound and unfortunately baby had no heartbeat since 8 weeks.. Hope this isn't the case for you ! So personally I suggest if you can't see anyone right awAy, take a trip to the ER and make sure things are okay. I don't believe that spotting in any way is something to "assume" is okay ! Some cases it is & that's great, but if you're worried be sure to find out as soon as you can ! :) good luck Hun, I'm praying everything is perfectly great with your little one :)
  • Thanks everyone!! Great advice from everyone.
  • @xxstephh‌ ... Was it a lot of blood like a period?
  • There's nothing the ER can do for you. I know it's scary. I've been there before, I just had spotting too. Call your doctor in the morning. Hopefully you can get in and have your mind set at ease. FX it's nothing.

  • I had spotting several weeks ago, spoke with my doctor, and he definitely did not want me to go to the ER.  If it was heavy bleeding, it may be a different story...but my doctor said they wouldn't be able to help the situation, and I could make things worse between all of the walking around & waiting and other sick people there.  You can always see about going to your OB tomorrow.

It sounds pretty light, so FX it's nothing!

Don't waste your time at the ER. I had spotting at 7 weeks then just again at 12w6d.... Both times I called the OB and they told me as long as it does not turn into a period like flow and occupied with or without cramps it's normal! There is an increase blood flow to different areas so it's normal. I would always call my OB to calm my fears because I like hearing it from them but they reassure me it's fine :) they recommended I took it easy and drank water too!

  • Actually it was barely any blood at all. Extremely light and light pink. & if I would have seen my doctor I would have had to wait until a weekday to see him and then for him to send for the ultrasound so yes the ER done the ultrasound and right after they took me in for a d&c . The only time I seen my doctor was to follow up after my d&c...
Hospitals are different everywhere but in my opinion I'd find out right away. Good luck ! Hope it's started to stop and things are great!
& just because you ladies may have had some spotting and things were fine doesn't mean you should tell this lady to just sit back and relax, you don't have to soak a pad or whatever... I didn't , I barely had any on a panty liner ! So everyone is different , But anyways it's the ladies choice in what she'd like to do, but I hope it's nothing & things are great :) Be sure to update us !!!
  • I didn't have an ob & according to the tech I wasn't going to miscarry on my own, everything was still growing as it should except baby. & I think finding out about losing a child as soon as it happens is a lot better then going on thinking that everything is fine. & having a d&c was the best decision as we tested baby and found out what happened. Everyone is different and I still believe she should be checked ASAP.
  • And I guess the hospital here is totally different , there were at least 6 people waiting and I was brought in right away .
  • Ob's aren't always right either .. My cousin was pregnant and started to spot lightly, her ob told her to just lay down and not do too much.. The next day she went to the ER as it hadn't stopped & needless to say if she hadn't she wouldn't be here today. Spotting in pregnancy is a very scary and common thing but in the off chance sometimes it's life threatening .. Hence why I say she should be checked soon. I didn't necessarily say she needed the ER but if she couldn't see her ob ASAP then the ER would be her best option . But totally her choice, I stated my opinion .. Nobody has to like it. It was for the op anyways. What she does is up to her
    Best of luck !

Oh honey don't apologise. Everyone's definition of spotting is different. No one on this forum knows what is going on at home, do whatever you feel is necessary I wreckon xx
