Hello ma' ladies
I just started supplementing formula after 11months EBF, shes getting about 1-2 formula bottles a day over the last 2 weeks. Coincidentally, we're now dealing with our first diaper rash, and I dont know how to tell if its an allergy to the new formula or just a normal "everyone gets them at sometime" diaper rash. Prior to starting formula her stool was mostly solid, now its unformed, more if a paste consistency - again, does that seem like an allergy or is that normal for formula poop?
obviously if it continues to get worse i'll follow up with the pedi, but for the time being I was hoping for a little bumpie insight
No new foods introduced, no known allergies for her or anyone in our families, no other symptoms of allergy that we've noticed. Shes been getting the "enfagrow infant and toddler" formula
Re: talk to me about formula, poop & rash
Have you been using a diaper rash ointment religiously? How often is your DD changed? Sometimes when we don't use the ointment, a rash appears - its a preventative for our kids. I always thought rashes were due to the acidic nature of waste, and a bottoms exposure to urine or soft poop for long periods of time (3+ hours) or a lot of ongoing diarrhea diapers (wet) will cause the rashes.
ETA but it could also be that his daycare teachers don't put on his aquaphor all the time like I have asked them to.
@Princess_Lily we uss butt paste pretty regularly, like you preventatively.
We're pretty good about changing her but she did have 4 huge pasty poops yesterday
Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it
