best bra ever!

As a first timer, my boobs have seen the most change so far. A solid 2 cup sizes. About 3 weeks ago I bought a bra at Victoria's secret and I'm nearly busting out of it now. I'm all about comfort and support as everything I read says to look into maternity bras. My size was 32DD so Victoria's is the only place carrying my size. After trying at least 10 on, I went with the Ultimate sports bra! The straps unhook in the front to make it racer back (bonus for future nursing) but otherwise fits like a regular bra. It's not crushing and looks great under clothes.
Just putting my experience and find out there for those struggling with an ever changing ample bosom!

Re: best bra ever!

  • Same, I was a 36DD to start with.  I'm off to Motherhood Maternity in a bit to see what they have :/

  • Non-pregnant I loved VS sports bras!

I haven't needed to wear them lately but I'm sure I'll still love them. I've definitely filled out but I'm still fitting in all my bras...barely.

  • Pre-pregnancy I was a 32FF.  I have already grown to a 32GG.  I can rarely find anything in anything other than a specialty store and bras can get pricey!   A friend introduced me to www.herroom.com. they have ALL sizes - large, small, you name it.  They have great sales and a pretty good maternity selection.  They are also great about returns if something doesn't work.  It's not as easy as going into VS or target, but since I can't find bras there, its the best option for me.  The also AMAZING swimwear for hard to find sizes.
  • I LOVE Bravado nursing bra ( the original). It is perfect for nursing and totally tames my giant boobs. I love the full coverage provided by Bravado and will totally be buying more. I wish I had invested in my last time around so I didn't have to do laundry so much.
  • Last week I finally went to get some new bras because I was spilling out of mine. I went to Nordstrom and they had a pretty good selection for my new size 32DD. They were a bit pricey, but are comfortable and fit well.
  • Did you guys get measured somewhere? I've never been measured. I've been a 34a forever and I'd say I'm more like a c cup now. I need to get some new bras but I want to make sure I get the right size. How does that even work?

I went and got resized at Nordstrom shortly after finding out I was pregnant. The ladies there are so professional and do an excellent job - I haven't had a poor experience there, but I did get an incorrect sizing at Victoria's Secret. It was also nice to get new bras at Nordstrom because they do all the work for you. The gal that helped me brought a few different styles and sizes back, and helped with checking the fit and finding one that would work really well now as well as through my pregnancy.

Also, on a personal note, it helped to not be thinking about sizes. When she asked if she could help me find a bra, I said "Yes, I just found out my pregnant and my boobs are already bigger. I need a new bra that will hopefully get me through pregnancy, and please don't say anything about what sizes we're getting into."

Nordstrom is pricey, but it was beyond worth it, in my opinion. Good luck shopping!

  • I began my pregnancy at a 32E, am now a 32F, and will probably son be a 32G. Soma makes a really great non-wired maternity bra and it's really reasonably priced. It's treating me and my giant girls pretty well so far. Hopefully it grows with us.
  • I was at VS this weekend, and was *this* close to buying that. I went up two sizes, as well. Thanks for the recommendation!
  • I am totally going to check this out! I need to go and get fitted for a new bra, I have no clue what size I am now (except for I am ginormous), and last month I grabbed a D, but its now getting small on me...

Off to VS I go! Thanks for the tip!

  • Pre pregnancy I was a 32DD and now I can't fit in any of them :(
  • I also got measured at Nordstrom and previously at another specialty bra store. Started out 32G- now in a 36L. Will try herroom- also got some back extenders so I don't have to buy another one too soon! I do find underwire uncomfortable but am having trouble imagining any support without it.
  • I found a really comfy sleeper bra at Motherhood Maternity. It will work for nursing too. I just lounge around the house in it and sleep in it. I started off as a 32C and now by the way I'm spilling out I'm at 34D. I may just live in these sleeper bras... :)

  • https://www.reddit.com/r/abrathatfits is an excellent resource.  Their FAQ alone has helped me a lot.

I've been enjoying the Hanes "cozy bra" . . . I was sucked in because it said "cozy" and is indeed very nice and soft.  Mostly for hanging around the house or sleeping in, but I've worn it out under a baggy sweatshirt.

  • Geez I've always been in the itty bitty club but you gals make me feel like a 12 year old ;) . I'm a 32B which has definitely gotten fuller over the last few weeks but I'm not outgrowing my current size just yet.
